Re: Round 11 Trades

Is Swan worth getting at the moment? Is he likely to come good anytime soon? Or steer clear due to his injury?

Mate get him Round 14. I'm predicting that Swan will be around $430,000 at round 14 so get on him then. :)

Yeah I was contemplating that but I only have 3 upgrades left and was wanting to do my mid this week. So tossing up between Gaz, Swan, Thompson, Boyd and Hodge. Your thoughts mate?

Since Swan, Jolly and a few others are allegedly being sent over to Arizona for accelerated recovery at high altitude, he may miss a week after the bye as well so if you don't already have him I definitely would be waiting until after the bye.

Re: Round 11 Trades

14 trades with $293k in bank. Darling > Didak & Bewick > A Swallow. Midfield will look like this Swan, Pendlebury, Judd, Selwood, A Swallow, Burgoyne with subs Krakouer, Smith, Jacobs. Fwd line Franklin, Chapman, Pavlich, N Roo, Didak, Petrie, Varcoe with subs Dixon, Sipposs, Mzungu. At the moment my only flaws are burgoyne & varcoe, I want to upgrade krakouer after rnd 12 so yet to decide if it will be in midfield or fwd line. Depends which 1 of burger or varcoe lift their game. If neither do I will bench both and use them as emergencies for byes & upgrade the remaining cash cows when they are beefed up.

Re: Round 11 Trades

2 trades this round:

Matera --> Mzungu
Harris --> Thompson

Struggling to decide who to take between Thompson, Priddis, Hodge...

Current starting midfield = Swan, Mundy, Selwood, Montagna, Boak, Harris

Going for league win only, so the fact Thompson has his last bye in a multi bye round is an advantage..

Who would you take out of those 3??

p.s. looking to trade Boak to Pendlebury after pies bye in rd 14 (bit of a luxury trade so will see how boak is travelling & may hold off on this till later in the year)

Re: Round 11 Trades

Tapscott >>>>> Callian

&

Liberatore >>>> Hodge

Got plenty of bench cover so not fussed if callian doesnt play for a few weeks.

Gana take a punt on hogde:)

Re: Round 11 Trades

Liberatore >>> Hodge

Harris >>> Priddis / S. Thompson

Leaning towards Priddis because I really like WC's end of season run and some slight "unique-ness" added + been ultra consistent.

So many mates are jumping on Ablett in cash leagues etc. Think I will go a little outside the square approach...

Would make complete MID of Swan, Pendlebury, Selwood, Montagna, Priddis, Hodge

Re: Round 11 Trades

Thinking of pulling the trigger on these which will put me down to 11 trades which is a worry.

Libba > Mzungu
Harris > Thompson/Hodge/Ablett (Order of preference)

My midfield would be pretty much complete after that

Swan, Selwood, Goddard, Pavlich, Rockcliff (Inj), One of the 3 mentioned

Jacobs, Wallis, Mzungu

Thoughts?

Re: Round 11 Trades

I’m going for a league win, which of these midfield combos would you guys go?

1. Thompson, Ablett
2. Thompson, Mundy
3. Ablett, Mundy
4. Ablett, Thompson

TBH I think yr midfield requires alot of work.

If you compare it to a 1st class midfield of Swan, Judd, Selwood, Pendles, Boyd, Murphy which will be common and these guys will also have Goddard in backs and Pavlich fwd with a jacobs/mzungu in the mids providing MPP coverage.

I'm not that happy with it but it's going to have to do for now. I can move Pav and Goddard around and upgrade other players in MPP. I have Higgins in the forward line and Heppell in the backline although I'm leaning towards keeping him. It's not ideal but I disagree that it needs a lot of work. It's a pretty solid midfield and I've got a good spread of scorers in my entire team.

Re: Round 11 Trades

Any ideas on who I can downgrade Harris to for cash?

Already got Mzungu...
Very few options in the mids right now.

You got Ben Jacobs yet? Obviously a week too late but better than any of the other the other options around. Maybe hope Isaac Smith gets a call up, or take a punt on Callinan who returns in the SANFL this weekend.

Re: Round 11 Trades

is anyone considering the sideways trade swan>premium mid at any stage to try and get a boost if and when he gets sent to the US? not sure i can afford the trade, but just a thought.

Maybe that Evans from Melb if he keeps getting games.

Jacobs would be ideal but you may have missed the boat.

If you can hold on Harris maybe wait for Callinan, I think he's back from injury like this week and a quality experienced player like him won't be left in the SANFL too long.

You'd want to be pretty comfortable with trades to do it. I would be doing it, but the earliest I could fit it in would be after round 12. By then he may be $100k of a genuie premium.

Re: Round 11 Trades

I can't decide between option 1 and 4.

Hmm...So you reckon Ablett is worth the extra cash?? I like the idea of having Ablett because he’s a known gun but I’m just not sure he’s actually going to give much more than a Mundy or Thompson.

Personally I'd be going option number 3.
Mundy last week showed he can still pull out a 119 without anyone else in the team really firing and Sandilands not playing. Ablett, absolute gun and has no more byes for the rest of the year.

My dilemma is quite broad. I am hoping someone could give some insight into what I should do this week. I can afford two upgrades in any area of the ground this week, but I'm not sure if I should stick to my usual 1 upgrade 1 downgrade routine.

Team looks like this:

DEF: Goddard-Deledio-Enright-Heppell-Shaw-Gibbs-Lower
Puopolo-Jacobs-Coad

MID: Swan-Judd-Boyd-Mundy-Bartel-Burgoyne
Harris-Hibberd-Smith

RUC: Cox-Petrie
Smith-Derickx

FOR: Franklin-N.Riewoldt-Pavlich-Goodes-Darling-Krakouer-Lynch
Tapscott-Richardson-Siposs

I have 14 trades left and a surplus of $461,600

My forward line is obviously pretty weak, and Chapman and Fyfe are looking pretty good at the moment (price wise), but Burgoyne, as much as I love him at Hawthorn, supercoach wise is really pissing me off.
I'd love to get Hodge, Ablett or Priddis in my team, but maybe theres a better option!
