Re: 2012 Geelong memberships

Got my membership pack in the mail today.

Standard stuff: lanyard, fixture with a magnet stuck to it, stickers...and a blank key(!?). I assume you take it to the hardware store and get em to copy your house key onto it. Bit of a weird inclusion.

Also, regarding the renewal form being sent with the card ready to be activated... I got one of them last year and the year before. Same with my mate.

Re: 2012 Geelong memberships

One of our two membership renewals arrived today (weird that only one did, but anyway) and for the first time it included the membership card.

Not sure i like the idea of membership cards going out before one has actually paid (even though they've obviously not activated), but i'm sure there's some marketing strategy behind it.

Didn't think you were a member VC. Are you in this year?

We're not a financial powerhouse like the Carringbush. We need everyone who can afford it to join. There are memberships as low as $80.

Think it might be a marketing strategy resulting form the number of non-renewals last year. Doesn't faze me. Whatever it takes.

Absolutely.
If it results in even one more member it'll be a good thing, i just have this admittedly weird thing about the idea of people who haven't contributed, yet still flash around a membership card.

Or turn up Round 1 with card in hand thinking they've paid only for an error to occur or similar.

Just renewed, and signed up my 11 week old son as a Kitty Cat Baby member, the brainwashing begins...

I'm not. But I was in 2010 and they sent me a card for activation at the end of 2010.

Dammit, and here I was thinking I'd be in the running for a free Ford or something.

Key. Key-ring. You know it makes sense.

Like this, but white with blue logo and "member 2012" on reverse.

And its the new logo too, not the classic.

Re: 2012 Geelong memberships

Yeah I am confused by the key as well. Presumably house doors have all different types of keys so this one won't be of any use to most people. Rather daft if you ask me. I was also disappointed there was no letter with the pack if only to explain why they sent a bloody key! Would have preferred a premiership cup pin like they did after '07 for members who had been members in that year.

Hoping we have a cap/scarf giveaway again this year but couldn't be bothered reading through the member guide to find out. Another reason why they should have sent an accompanying letter!

Re: 2012 Geelong memberships

Like a few others here, I received my membership pack with the strange blank key. Also received something weirder, which I believe is part of my Committed Cats membership rollover.

My membership pack included a Cats-branded digital desk clock, and a Cats-branded... thing... which looks like it is some sort of plate/phone/iPad stand. Although I tried it with the latter and it just tipped backwards, so I have no idea.

Disappointed about the lack of members scarves this year, but oh well. I guess the overwhelming feedback was that members didn't want them any more - though I don't know anyone who complained, or was asked.

Committed Cat here too, didn't get any of this. Maybe you won a competition?

I would prefer to think of it as responsible parenting.;)

I received the clock as part of my Premiership member package. The other thing I would assume to be the stand for the clock.

Re: 2012 Geelong memberships

Our membership is 23,731 as of 19/12.

Tracking a lot better than last year. We around 18,500 at the same time last year.

We should hit a new record this year.
