Those stats cannot be correct for Siposs as he was in the play all day.

They would be the half time stats mate.

Yep - those highlights pretty much summed up the commentary. Collingfilth were terrific early, took the foot off the accelerator, fought back hard, came out all guns blazing after Tarkyn Locker had simulated sex with the club mascot at half time, we thought they'd done enough to hang on, but Sandy got the 4 points. :(

... oh yeah, the wind might have maybe had something to do with the scoring (and we won't talk about the frees being 26-16 in the filth's favour).

Might suggest the boys need to work on the song a bit...

Whilst I had a chuckle at Saad's cheesy grin, it's a bit of a worry. Did the boys not already embarrass themselves enough after wins earlier in the season? Or are they just confused singing the Hawthorn theme song?

:D

Saad's grin made me laugh as well.

It's a good point though. When our boys train with the Zebs they should be given the words to take home. From all reports the alignment is going well. Learning the song shouldn't take too much effort.

Round 7: Sunday 6th May at TBBO

Dev Squad: Sandringham vs North Ballarat at 11am
Seniors: Sandringham vs Bendigo Bombers at 2pm

Entry is FREE for all Sandringham & StKilda members

Where was Siposs playing for most of the game? I would really like to see him in the midfield for us, with that booming kick. Maybe at expense of Gram or Polo

In the last couple of weeks Siposs has moved onto the wing

Those guys certainly give some weird votes.

Cockie is a gun, but he was well down (and very frustrated with the umpires). Wouldn't have had 20 possessions and didn't have a shot on goal that I can remember.

Hey Guys

whats going on with Farren Ray? Hardly seen him in your seniors of late... Is it just bad form , or is he coming back from injury , or has he been playing poorly?

cheers

Ray's days as an AFL footballer are over. He was a solid player but that's it, you rarely noticed him out there. It also has to do with us now having young guys pushing for selection.

Ray may get a recall next week. He is a solid player and an honest contributor that will be noticed through his commitment and skills. His return is also likely as our many of our younger guys may need a rest to not go down injured like under Lyon last year.

Beau Wilkes & Jamie Cripps will play for Zebs this afternoon.

DEV SQUAD FINAL SCORE: @sandyzebs 11.14.80 defeat @NB_Roosters 10.16.76

Minchington impressive

1ST QTR UPDATES

Winmar in back pocket on Riemers. James Gwilt on Matt Little.

Bendigo get first goal of day. Sandy 0.1.1 to Bendigo 1.0.6

Jamie Cripps gets Zebs first goal. 1.1.7 to 1.0.6

Peake playing as loose man in defence.

Archer goals from 40m.. Zebs 2.2.14 to 1.0.6

Cripps amongst it all early.

Jackson Coleman intercepts kick and goals from 40m. Zebs lead 3.3.21 to 1.0.6 after 15mins

Winmar misses from 50m... 3.5.23 to 1.0.6

Ledger goals after yet another turnover by Bendigo kicking it out. 4.5.29 to 1.0.6

QTR TIME

Sandringham: 4.7.31
Bendigo: 1.2.8

Goals: Cripps, Coleman, Archer, Ledger

Cook & Cripps pretty solid that qtr

First goal to Bendigo against the flow (the ball spent the first 5 min in the Zebs fwd line).

Quick answer by Cripps on the run from 45 in a little bit of traffic.

Slattery has had a few touches on Shenton, who hasn't touched it.

Good pass by Ross finds Archer who goals from 45m.

Cook (Zeb listed) is dominating.

Good follow up tackle by Dunell after a poor handball to him. Gives to Cockie who misses.

Gwilt has had some good touches.

Ross, Ray and Ledge have had touches, but been ordinary with a couple of kicks.

Wilkes drops a relatively easy mark 30m out, gets it at ground level but misses the snap under minimal pressure. Looks out of sorts at this stage.

Coleman goals after kick-in error by Bendigo.

Nice cut-off by Coleman on the wing, gives to Curren streaming past. Just misses Peake with 55m pass into the pocket.

Zebs combine well in tight to get it to Winmar 50m out. Disappointing miss, but he gets involved in the next play that almost ends in a goal after a kick by Ray and attempt by Coleman to poke it through.

Nice play by Ledge to slice through traffic and goal on the left from 30m.

Good by Curren to take on the tackler when nothing else was on. Ran 40m and nearly hit Archer.

Shenton completely outpointed by Slattery in a one-on-one.

Exciting play by Curren and Cook, but only a point results.

Shenton again done over by Slattery.

Lovely tackle by Gwilt - effortless to put his opponent on the deck.

Attempted centre by Curren (after Wilkes smashed the pack) almost floats through.

31 to 8 at qtr time.

Thought Cripps went very quiet after first 10 mins, and he's been hobbling at the break (but is starting the second quarter).

2ND QTR UPDATES

Cripps takes easy mark 35m out and bangs it through for his 2nd of day. 5.7.37 to 1.3.9

Coleman kicks his 2nd and Zebs lead. 6.7.43 to 1.4.10

Newnes kicks @sandyzebs 3rd inside 3 mins to start 2nd qtr. 7.7.49 to 1.4.10

Madden gets Bendigo's 2nd goal of day after turnover by Ferguson. Zebs lead 7.749 to 2.6.18

Coleman kicks his 3rd. 8.7.55 to 2.6.18

Ladson kicks one for Bendigo nearing half time. Zebs lead 8.7.55 to 3.7.25

Bendigo kick another one. 8.7.55 to 4.7.31

Cook takes a screamer in goal square but has hurt himself in process. Cook gets up and bangs it through for much needed goal for Zebs. 9.7.61 to 4.7.31

26 mins gone in 2nd qtr and @sandyzebs 9.7.61 lead @BendigoFC 5.7.37

Maybe it's unrelated, but I really feel for Wilkes. To think you're finally getting a gig at AFL level, being named to play and then being dropped on a night where you could have really shown your worth would be hard to stomach. It'd be hard to go back the VFL level and continue to work as hard where it seems that even if you do everything right, you still might not get a gig.

On top of doing a very good job for the half he was on last week and then getting subbed off after having a ripper couple of minutes and looking by far the most likely to kick goals (for either team) up forward. Would have been very hard to swallow all that, plus getting named this week and then withdrawn, I expect and I think the way he was treated was pretty poor and not at all smart (especially considering Watters reportedly said the late changes were due to the "weather", which was always likely to be dry, as the forecast predicted and turned out to be that way).

Good play in tight ends with Shenton, who lifts his eyes and spots Cripps at 35m. He elects not to play on despite being in 20m of space, but slots it (just).

Riemers has had a couple of touches on Winmar.

Excellent defensive effort by Cripps (stripped the ball off an opponent. Wilkes takes a grab on the wing, pumps it to Archer - who nearly marks but gets up quicker to handball to a teammate who finds Coleman unmarked in the sqaure for a goal.

Deft touch by Shenton to Cook, who finds Curren on the chest 20m out. He converts the set shot.

Good mark by Faz on the wing, and nice work by Winmar and Gwilt is spoilt by some confusion between Peake and Dunell.

Ledge wins a free but doesn't get the trip from 45m (into a bit of breeze).

Nice grab by Dunny third up in defence.

Cripps gets up sore (again) but lays a good tackle.

Great effort by Dowler to dive and touch a ball going through for a goal. Unfortunately its a 7 point play as Jacko muffs the kick to a Bendigo player 25m out on a slight angle.

Nice screen by Jacko gives Woz some time. Ray, Gwilt, Wilkes, Curren all involved and Coleman kicks the goal off the ground.

Jacko streams down the ground to receive but can't hit the target.

A couple more turnovers and eventually Bendigo make the Zebs pay. They double up with a quick centre clearance.

Cook a Riewoldt-like screamer running back with the flight, after Dunell got it forward with a hurried kick. He goals from 15m on a slight angle.

Horrid effort by Cripps to belt it straight out of bounds under little pressure.

Little finally gets a possession (against Dowler) and he doesn't normally miss.

Wilkes out-bodies his opponent nicely, but doesn't learn from Ledger's kick (tough pocket) and kicks it out on the full.

Bendigo screw the kick-in and Ross pounces, dodges, and goals from 30m.

Screaming run-down by Wilkes, Cockie gathers and finds Coleman who kicks it from 20m on a decent angle.

73 to 38 at half time.
