alwyn davey, robbie warnock, daniel motlop...

We've got worse ruckmen on the list than Robbie Warnock.

I'm worried Zak Jones will end up at Geelong, become good, they'll put together another nucleus of quality players and in a couple of years, Nat will get his arm seriously twisted to dump us and slink off to the Cats to play big boys' football.

or :rainbow: He ends up at St Kilda, doesnt want to get butt pummeled by riewoldt and montagna and requests a trade after 2 years :rainbow:

Fair enough mate, I must have misread the earlier post.

I'm just a bit over hearing how some new signing is going to help us change the culture, will bring this, that and the other to the table in terms of leadership, professionalism, baking and homemaking etc. Rodan, Pedersen, Byrnes, Dawes all got a rap for that last year, and it's probably been bandied about for every recruit over the age of 22 for the last 15 years. Nothing seems to change, unless you count our steady, inevitable decline to shitness. If we do improve remarkably this year, there'll be a fair bit of chin stroking over how much of it is attributabal to Roos and how much to portion for B Vince.

Vince is on a different level to Rodan, Pedersen and Byrnes though. Dawes suffered from injury but from what I can see at least, he had had an important positive influence on the playing group as a leader.

Even if Vince doesn't flop, I'd have preferred we took Jones at #23. Vince will be around for 3 or 4 years and may play 80 odd games for us. We'll win nothing while he's here and we may look back and say he was a serviceable player who did a job. By then, Zac could be about to hit his straps and become a quality player for whoever drafts him with another 6 or 8 odd years of football ahead of him.

The more Jonesesesesesesessesseessese we have running around for us, the better. Slide you muthafarka, slide.

i think teams need players that have the experience to hold a higher tag, players like toumpas will be saved from a tag that vince will get ahead of him, will help massively imo

Definitely - and it also alleviates the pressure as a result of necessity for Toumpas to be winning 25 possessions a game and laying 5 tackles. Allows him to just play his own game.

in his season report (what an underrated series) he has stated that he was massively under his own pressure to perform

in my opinion there is more examples of not as good brothers than = or better

Excellent point. If you've got brothers playing AFL football, one of them is going to be as good if not better than the other one. Sex panther.

Nah nah nah. You got it all wrong. It means that one of them is going to be as bad, if not worse than the other one.

Duh.

Exactly if you have a brother he has a 50% chance of being the best in the family

Its simple geography

What if there are 3 or 4 brothers, arithmetic, kick more than your opposition, you win.

I'd like to win 50% of the games this year, but expect 6 maybe, very happy with 8 !

its all known knowns, unknown knowns, unknown unknowns, and a hole lot of hot air,

apologies if I have offended any Americans !

Amazed at the amount of talk about Zak Jones here. Why? Because he is the brother of one of our best players. So many people in love with the fairytale. Care factor of 0 for me. I just want the best player we can draft, and from what ive read, Zak isnt good enough to go pick 9.

Trade period has been brilliant, Tyson will be a star and just hoping we jag another at pick 9. **** the fairytales, just get me a team that will win.

We should draft Hawthorn at pick #9.

I dont think anyone wants him at 9, he would be a nice pick around 20-30 though imo but we dont have another pick until 40 where he will be gone in a shallow draft.

Anyway draft a good mid and 9 and whatever is the next best option Zac or not at 40.

People thought we made a mistake on Dylan Grimes at first, and yes he is a good player, but has played abouy 7 games a year up unitl now, maybe that sounds similar to Jacks start to his career but he could go anywhere after a start like that.

no, I'm talking about the second player coming through the system is more often than no, not as good

Mate that is complete and utter rubbish, are you saying the oldest brother is always the best??

Joel Selwood >>>>> Adam, Troy

I think the younger brothers tend to be better. Kicking around in the backyard or playing with an older brother(s), the younger ones are generally slower, shorter and weaker and have to become more skillful and smarter to compete. Like playing senior footy before getting drafted.

But really, who cares. No ones suggesting drafting someone just because they're related to a decent player. Is Luke Ablett still kicking around?
