We get to the NAB Cup GF next week and a number of the hype-induced fence sitters will purchase.
I think you're right wiki, but can't be happy for that being the case.
Hard to get excited about fair-weather friends and what sort of supporter needs to see a NAB Cup, to stimulate their interest?
Unfortunately all clubs will have these fair-weather supporters. If it means us getting more games at the G, then sign 'em up I say.

I was waiting to see which I'd prefer for my birthday pressie - Carlton membership or AFL TV subscription and well AFL TV isn't as good as I thought it would be
Usually I buy the interstate membership (living in Brisbane) but this year I'm overseas and will only come home before December if we make the Granny. In choosing a membership this year I'm tossing up between the:
- 'At Home' membership $90 includes apron and flag.. neither of which I'll get to see and/or use unless we make the final
- 'Club 17' membership $195 with 'guaranteed access to purchase grand final tickets'.. what does that exactly mean? No scarf etc though.
- '3 game' $90, scarf and access to buy finals tickets but not the grand final.
- 'Long distance' $130, apron and scarf plus access to finals tickets but not the grand final.
Can anyone tell me if the apron and flag are of decent quality? Also what does it mean by 'access' to purchase GF tickets? Would I be hypothetically better off just camping out overnight for tickets and saving myself $100 or is it likely that the people with those memberships will secure GF tickets.
Also, will all of the above membership types count towards our membership total?? Trying to help get the elusive 50k Will I get a membership card with all of those memberships as well, I think it'll be my 6th year and I kind of like seeing the '# consecutive years member' on it haha

Can anyone comment on the quality of the scarf, apron and flag in this years membership packs?

The scarf is fine (same as every year). The apron is pretty flimsy/cheap.

Club 17 is an add on upgrade to a membership and can't be purchased separately.
Same as what Erko Blue mentioned.
Guaranteed "access" to purchase a ticket to the GF only applies to Captains Club and Club 17 Members.
It is a ballot system and doesn't mean you will get a GF ticket.
I am not sure how many CC & Club17 Members we have, but the GF allocation to participating Clubs this year will be 15,000 from memory.
If we have 15K or less CC & Club17 Members, then all will get a GF ticket.
If you want to keep your m/ship years consecutive, I would go for one of the $90 m/ships.

I thought CC was guaranteed right to purchase a GF ticket if we get in. Not a 'Ballot' situation, how can a ballot be guaranteed access to buy a ticket. It would be ludicrous if we had more CC and Club 17 members than the 15K allocation.
