The at home membership is sort of aimed at the overseas market. To be perfectly honest, if the club could guarantee that I would get every FTA Carlton game on time for an extra 60 bucks on top of the 90 I would be forking out for the at home membership, I would probably go for that one instead of my sticking with the 3 game membership I get (for the same price I might add). Stick the BBQ apron and throw in an AFL TV membership and it would be almost worth it I reckon. Call it the Overseas At Home membership.

Hey Ruffy... if you are still reading this... make this happen!

Dram, Ruffy left his email address with us somewhere.

Send him whatever we think relevant to the good of all. Can't hurt.

Ain't gonna happen this year... But we should get it happening for next year...

Also an online discount for OS members wouldnt hurt... I just brought a retro hoodie... Damned postage cost almost as much as the bloody hoodie.

Thrilled with the increased focus on membership services, and hate to be critical during such a positive week for the club...still a ways to go though...

An email to the club enquiring about my social club medallion that never arrived with my pack took more than a week to reply to (outisde of the auto generated 'thanks for the email, we will get back to you soon'). This is nowhere near accepted DM standards.

Membership Polo didn't arrive (despite being paid for a couple of months prior)..after enquiring I was sent two. Nice problem to have, but in reality highlights potential issues behind the scenes.

And loyal direct debit members where promised a calendar in early Feb...it arrives mid-March.

Its not about the trinkets. Membership based organisations simply need to deliver on these things. Get better systems...get more resources, whatever, just get it fixed.

Yes, I believe they call it 'under-promising and over-delivering' not 'over-promising and under-delivering'...

I agree wholeheartedly!!
Same thing goes with being a CFC member & AFLSupport club member.CFC membership card and key rings etc arrive promptly.
AFL membership card arrived 6 weeks later,AFL support pack of goodies no where to be seen after phoning the AFL 3 times,to be told different things on each occasion.Called the AFL this morning to ask the status of the packs to get a recorded message to say...." the AFL support packs will be sent out within the next 2 weeks".
This it totally unprofessional and reflects back to the CFC and the membership dept.
Would have been nice for CFC/AFL members to be able don their Blues gear for the grand final tonight?
It's not rocket science!!!

Go Blues!!!

I ended up being o/s at the time, so I totally forgot, but I would encourage all of you with membership concerns to get along to the AGM in December and voice your opinions re the standard of membership services. By all means, send emails and make phone calls...but I don't think you can ignore the impact you might have by standing in front of them.

It is obviously too late for any advice to be integrated into this years performance, however, if some eloquent, thoughtful and constructive criticisms are put to the board by people that clearly have a profound emotional investment in the club, things will eventually get better.

Of the AGMs I've attended, the question time seems to get hijacked by people who just want to pot the club for raising prices and have a whinge about why we don't play at PP anymore. Bugger that. Get up, tell them you're a member because you love the club, and then tell them where they're missing the mark and how you think they might do things better.

Sounds a bit rah rah I know...but this is our club and a lot of us seem to have reservations about the performance in this regard. Why not ask the questions of the people who can actually instigate change?

A win on Friday night certainly would have helped but we do look set to break our record once again. Not sure we can get to 50,000 this year but a good start to the season can easily change that.

What did we get to last year?

Not sure of the exact figure but from memory I believe we fell just short of 46,000.

Wins early in the season I think would help more than a pracy gf. But it would have helped no doubt.
Need to come out firing in the season. Especially the first 2 games. Wins against traditional rivals in Richmond and Collingwood will see the membership increase. Happy that it increased 500 or so from Friday to Monday tbh. 500 a day would be nice ;)

39,763 as at 18th March.

Going to be pretty difficult to hit 50k from here, ideally we'd want to be around 43-45 by now. We definitely need to promote or have a better offering for the country / interstate members next season.

The increases in the past couple of days have been encouraging and if we do somehow get to 42.5K by the opener then we're well on our way to getting close to 50K

This week will have a big say into how we may finish up.

37,790 this time last year.

Final tally of 45,800.

A good start could see us hit 50,000.

3 x 9 - 7 - 6 + 3 = 17

I can't see us reaching 50k regardless of form. To be honest we shouldn't be relying on early season form signing up bandwagoners to reach our target.

If we don't hit 50k that's two years running we have fallen short of our target. The department has come a long way from where it was 18 months ago, but the gap is widening between the top 4-5 teams and us.

I accidenbtly stumbled onto the Richmond website a day or so ago, and they already have 48,000+ members.
Pretty poor that we are all but 10k behind them.

Wouldn't surprise me if they are including "Additional Packages" in their tally.

Remember though that our revenue is higher even though they have many more members.

Listening to Newbold (Hawthorn President) the other week, who explained things pretty simply in saying that memberships should have little to do with where a club sits on the table, but rather a feeling of ownership and one-ship with the club.
Nothing new here as a principle but Hawthorn have done it well and others have followed, whereas we're only just starting to open up our door and become inclusive.
We're coming from a long way back and may have well lost supporters to other teams over time.

Fortunately though we still have a large supporter pool to draw from and now it will be up to Swann and the Membership department to make good.

Regarding supporters, how much is a pass mark?
Or is it what it is?
Between 45,000-50,000 sounds fantastic for mind.

Anything short of 50K and questions will be asked and it seems more likely than not that questions are being prepared.

Carlton had 45.8K members last year and although we'll top that, one would have thought that with Malthouse aboard, all the positive publicity generated in the off-season along with a much harder and inclusive push from the membership department, that we would have rolled over 50K quite easily, yet that doesn't seem to be the case.

We're a hard lot to get through it seems.

Erroneous linking card...not even in the contect of the current conversation should a link to the Richmond membership department appear on a Carlton board.

Mods please card, delete thread, delete poster and order retinal scans for all to check for permanenet damage.
