Gotta question...

Is it worth trading Scotland for birchall period?

And is it worth trading Scotland to birchall just to make up the 18 players for next weeks bye round?

Depends whether you think Birchall will average significantly higher in the run home. Personally I think he will. Scotland is on the decline and Walker is playing his old role and doing it better than he ever did. I don't think Scotland will end up a top 12 Def where as Birchall might go close to being top 6. Personally I'd start Goodes over Scotland if I still had him..even Terlich based on recent form.

If I had Scotland and was going to trade him I'd probably go up to one of the better backs than Birchall. Making the trade depends on how many you have left.

Birchall vs Ellis?

Actually considering Ellis over Birch, which means I can rotate Ellis/Vlastuin/Goodes as D5/6/7 for a few weeks. Then if one doesn't work out could bring in a Heppell or Hibberd as D5 leaving the remaining two at D6/7.

Already got Ellis and Heppell I have 9 trades left with 165k in the bank I could go Scotland for Duffield or wait a week and get Scotland for Hanley but I still have O'Meara and need to get rid of him next week.

But if I use my savings on Hanley I won't have money to upgrade O'Meara unless I use another trade and downgrade Terlich/macaffer for $$$ but that 'll leave me with 6 trades left

I've read back the last couple of pages and it seems like the answer to my question may be Fyfe but I'll ask anyway...

Griffin v Delido v Fyfe?

I already have Gaz (13), Pendles (13), Watson (13), O'Meara (13), Dangerfield (13), Crouch (13), Kennedy (12), Priddis (12), Viney (12), Cotchin (11) in my midfield.
So I'm trading now to reduce my round 13 midfield failure, O'Meara is becoming one of the options above and Viney will become Mitchell this week just so I have all 3 trades next week for round 13 fixes.

Thanks in advance :)

Fyfe>Griffen>Deledio.

Have we done Kmart v Hrovat? I'm just not convinced Kmart can keep his spot for much longer when their injured players start trickling back in. Hrovat doesn't seem like he will set the world on fire but I just want someone to sit in M10 and hopefully be available every week. I just see him as having a better chance of doing that than Kmart. I'm a bit torn, thoughts?

My thoughts exactly. I'm leaning towards Hrovat too.

Not an easy one, I thought about it for quite a while, I chose KMart last week, perhaps I'm biased. Even though it hurts me next week.

My reasoning is on a number of fronts. Hrovat is a first year player out of TAC & I think the Doggies have a few similar to him so he may be in & out. KMart after missing out on the draft went back to Noble Park or Oakleigh, sorry can't remember. He won two B&F's there & got picked up by Frankston. Started in the ressies & ended up winning the senior B&F. So he'e a mature ager compared to Hrovat too.

Has come to the Pies & dominated the VFL. Here might be the difference your looking for he's averaged about 3 goals a game & since being promoted to the seniors has continued kicking goals.

I get the feeling he might push someone else out & keep his spot predominately as a fwd.

He keeps improving at every level, always a good sign.

Just my biased 2 cents.;)

Yeah I agree with everything ...but i'm sticking with Hrovat. The Bye is the deciding factor for me and playing my arch nemesis in R13 has also helped me make my mind up :D

toxic I would rather Birchall any day of the week against Ellis. He's still unproven IMO.

Someone talk me out of getting Barlow.

I really want Griffen as a high-priced POD but with Crouch omitted this week (**** you Sando) the $47K saved by taking Barlow comes in really, really handy.

I already have Fyfe.

Mids are Ablett, Pendlebury, Watson, Swan, JPK, Fyfe, Jack and Griffen/Barlow.

Arguments for/against Griffen and Barlow please.

Griffen, for current ave of 120, is fully priced at 600k, do you think he can keep this Ave up? Considering last 3 years have been 93, 108 & 106 ave. I would be looking to him to be averaging 115 by end of year, so 2nd half of year to ave 110 - to give an overall of 115.

Barlow has averaged 116, 83 (injured) & 95 in last 3 years, would expect to average 110 for year, so you are getting what you have paid for here as well.

Take Barlow, pocket the change and use elsewhere would be my advice, FWIW

Birchall for me. Proven premium.

Im looking to upgrade a forward for round 13.
Reiwoldt, Martin or Harvey?

2 old timers vs. the young gun!

Nick will tire as year goes on carrying the kids at St.K

Boomer has hit the ground running after missing first 6 games, also think he will tire too,

I'd be going Martin, DPP helps & looks to have taken a step up this year,

knowing full well he can start any game like Ablett & finish like ZDawson!

Martin is estimated to drop to 499k (for rd 13) & 487k (rd 14) - according to Footywire.

FWIW

Nic Nat or Roughy.......

Nic Nat - his game is built for SC, dominates taps, gets contested possessions & kicks goals!

Ruff still good selection, but go NN.

In a few years time, we'll be looking back and saying whilst GAJ was the No.1 SC player, I reckon we'll be putting Nic Nat as a clear No. 2.....

All IMO, FWIW

This is for next week, Minson vs Goldstein.

This is for next week, Minson vs Goldstein.

Can't split them too much-

Minson (ave 116) ~6% of teams vs. Goldstein (ave 113) ~12% of teams

Minson - teams played from rds 20-23 - Carl, Ade, Bris & Melb

Goldstein - rds 20-23 - Adel, Ess, Haw & Coll

I'd go Minson as he is a POD and has a somewhat easier run in his SC finals,

but not much in it.....
