Well if Luey misses, then Longer will be the no.1 ruck...so surely should score decently enough and then when Luey is right, just straight swap them?

Maybe less risky than starting with Currie?

Thats the other option to consider, YES

Thoughts on Bolton Vs someone like Zorko or Bartel?

Was not happy with Zorko in my team so went hunting for another option and Bolton came up tops. Has had an awesome NAB, has a great record against weak teams so as far as I can tell could avg 100 for the first 4-5 weeks and could not only be a great scorer early but could make money on a trade to Buddy.

I'm struggling with Zorko, 'cause even though I like him and think he'll do well, I've got so many Brisbane players as it is.... I've toyed with the idea of having Bolton, waiting for his price rise at end of R3 and then trading to SJ. SJ will then rise at R4 (due to missing R1) and you'll have made a fair bit of cash (in theory) for just the one trade...

What's wrong with 2 premo rucks and Currie on the bench. If he works out to be a high scorer you wouldn't imagine it would be as high as Cox etc, and makes a perfect R3?

nothing wrong with it at all...
my intention is to go the Currie/Burger combo deal, but in all reality it might not eventuate so
I am hoping it happens but planning for it if it does not happen.

Could there be a case with the"no good forward premiums or not many good forward premiums" that Roughead becomes a more than adequate pick. Cant see him improving but cant see him declining either. Safe pick and if Berger isnt named round 1 or early it might be beneficial for those that are starting Currie to have Cox alongside him with Rough in the forwards for the early part of the season and maybe even Rowe in the rucks aswell for even more flexibility insurance.

By R4 youd expect Leuy if he hasnt had any more problems to then be playing and by that time maybe you trade Rough, move Cox forward and still have that Cox/Rowe flexability into rucks along with Currie there aswell being R3 for backup.

This issue i have with Roughy is Hawthorn's tough early draw and the fact Roughead may play as a defender (as shown in NAB round 1). Could be a great pick though given how lacking the forward line is with premos this year.

I still think Longer route is the best way to go in regards to Luey missing round 1.

league head to head matchups don't start till round 3 anyway, leuey will be playing well by then anyway. Stop wasting trades and use them elsewhere like mids or forwards. Lets wait till round 1 teams have been picked.

I wouldn't think trades are including in the 2 trades per week leading up to week 2 matches of round 1. someone i guess will prove me wrong.

A lot of people on here go for overall ranking over league wins so the first few rounds are very important still.

A defender in the $200-300k range is the last piece of the puzzle for me. Desperately hoping Tambling gets up and cements a spot, will be perfect for my side.

With Alex Johnson going down on the weekend, Tony Armstrong has been given a golden opportunity to cement a spot in the Swans back 6 - looks very good when on, can use it well, and plays a pretty DT friendly game. Is 250k and I'm strongly considering him. Worth a look if that's what you're after.

Hadn't even considered his role after Johnson's injury, very good point. Something to think about at least, cheers. :thumbsu:

What for?
Not sure, there's just a few tweets saying that he's been suspended for breaking team rules. No idea how legitimate the pages are so take it with a grain of salt. Certainly not attempting to make it out as fact, just thought I'd post it here for people to start thinking about alternatives.

Theres a serious added risk with picking Swan now, i mean sure if he gets suspended for some little off field trouble than you trade him but youd much rather not need to worry about such things.

It does make decisions very easy if he isnt playing the first 2 rounds.
