Yarrr!
Really Cricket Australia or the Gabba should pay compensation to the Lions for the lost revenue as well as damage to the brand due to losing the media spotlight of the first game of the season.
If there is a contract that gives us rights to the ground on that Easter weekend, which ever body let the booking happen that prevented us from having access to that is in breach of contract, which I am sure there are penalties for.
The way I read it all of the cricket grounds are being booked just in case a domestic final needs to be played there, seems a ridiculous reason to breach a contract, lets renew our calls for a drop in pitch so this doesn't happen every year from here on out.
What happens if the Shield season is extended by a week in 2014? Does that mean we aren't able to play a home game until round 3? Surely a line gets drawn somewhere when it comes to breaching contracts for events that may not even happen at the ground.
