One might expect Kosi’s number one priority to be maintaining his place in the team for as long as possible. But the 30-year-old can see the bigger picture for the club.

Gesturing at the young son in his arms, Koschitzke says “I want to come with the kids in five or 10 years’ time and sit in the stands and watch competitive St Kilda.”

“I want those kids that I get to play with now to run around and show the fight and the edge and be a good side,” Koschitzke told saints.com.au.

The leaders who were at the Saints when Koschitzke first arrived at the club had the same mindset. “There were blokes that left legacies, and taught us how to play and train and compete.”

Brilliant stuff, the difference between StKilda and Melbourne in a nutshell, and I hope that in 10 years time we have vet's like Jack Steven and Ben McEvoy saying the same thing.

This was a really good inteview. Kosi really seemed to open up a lot here and spoke a lot more artfully and thought out then he normally interviews like. Despite his up and down performance, he is a great role model for the club and a good bloke and it will be sad when he retires.

There was an interview with Roo and Dal in the Footy Record.

Excerpts:

The first time I met (Roo was when) Grant Thomas hosted a BBQ for the whole club and their families. We got along straight away.

He aligned himself with Aaron Hamill from very early on. Aaron set the scene for him and showed him the way to train and go about his footy. They got along well and that work ethic really rubbed off.

(His workrate makes) life as midfielders alot easier, particularly under pressure. You always know roughly where he's going to be.

I remember (Dal's) second game against Sydney ... he kicked a behind from about 60m after the siren to draw the game. (ACTUALLY, WULFY _UCKED UP A BANANA FROM 2M TO DRAW THE GAME AND DAL HAD A SHOT FOR THE WIN - A NICE TORP BUT IT FELL SHORT)

Dal's one guy that's really consistent with his moods and he's always providing comic relief ... he's a pretty humorous guy. I don't think I've ever seen Dal in a bod mood.

We have got some quality young midfielders in Seb Ross and Jack Newnes who lean on Dal and Joey quite heavily. I think that is something that really motivates him, to make sure the legacy he leaves with the next batch of St Kilda midfielders is a strong one.

He loves his nice cushy lifestyle ... so he is going to make sure he is good at whatever he does to support his lifestyle. I don't think he will be involved in football, (more) the corporate world in some way.

Saturday was the first time he had more than 20 in an AFL match. Milera played higher up the field than usual.

Milera describes his time in the VFL as “a bit frustrating” but believes it has been a learning experience for him. “When I went back to Sandy the coaches tried to get me to play on the wing more."

“I played most of my SANFL days on the wing, so to come to AFL I probably need to build my endurance up to play a bit more on the wing, so that’s what I’m aiming for.”

“It’s a big ground, so there’s plenty of room to move around. Everyone loves playing on the G.”

“Consistency – that’s the main thing I need to aim for.”

Watters on Schneider "I'd like him to come back. We've missed his quality now over last year and this."

"He's had some really tough runs with soft tissue injuries; again, probably this week he'll play, certainly the week after, but we've been saying that for six or seven weeks and there have just been some stumbles along the way."

"If we can get him back out there and he can force his way back in for the last six or seven weeks, that's a real bonus for us."

Watters said the toe had been a three-to-four year issue with Fisher and it had come to the point where surgery was the best option. "He'll be looking forward to day one of pre-season and it will probably be the first time in a while he can run without any distress."

"Steven Baker has reached a confidential settlement with Channel 7. Whilst details of the settlement remain secret, the network was forced to run a clarification ... from a news report on a tribunal case involving Baker (at) Sorrento. Baker ... is helping drag big crowds to the Sharks' games."

(I note Bakes has kicked 11 goals in 5 games this year)

he sued 7?

Very disappointing that the club pulled Roo from On The Couch because of the Milne issue.

Shows a total lack of both confidence in the public perception of the club and of faith in our skipper

Agreed it is disappointing, but I am sure that after what happened with Watson they lost their nerve a bit on this so decided it was safer to back out

Exactly. Why even risk it.

There's every chance Roo went to the club and said he didn't want to go on anyway, so the club just said they pulled him. Right decision IMO.

Pathetic by club. Roo is our captain and he should be out there talking about club/youth and giving us hope after the pathetic performance on weekend. Using the Milne excuse is a massive cop out. He doesn't have to answer anything. If he tells them straight up before going on air that he will say no comment, they won't ask about it.

And yet they allow Dal to go on TFS?

Poor decision, imo. Roo has been playing a long time and has come under scrutiny for various reasons before. He knows how to handle himself in the media. It's not like he's a first or second year player, ffs.
