Pick one for M5/6. Rich. J Stevens. Hannaberry...or save the cash n go with Koby Stevens
I have to tell you the truth as your a Lions supporter. Rich is shit.

Sorry, Rich will shit it in of those options.:p
Hanners, close second, have both ATM but may upgrade Hanners to prem myself.

Yeah I've got Stevens and Rich at the moment M4 and M5 and am thinking about upgrading one too. I worry Rich will cop a tag though, he doesn't have the quality around him that Hanners and Stevens do.

Hanners maybe, you're midfield is not bad though. Redden, Rocky (not carrying an injury) adding in Moloney, expect more (mid wise) from Zorko, Hanley & Beams etc. Koby Stevens has who around him?

Jack (Kobys long lost 3rd cousin) has an aging Montagna, Dal Santo, Hayes, & Armitage around him. Dal will be first tagged as he is the best user of the ball IMO.

It's certainly going to be interesting to see who cops the tag at the lions this year. Rich doesn't need much of it to be dangerous, redden has become their accumulator and Moloney has shown in the past he can't handle a tag. Then of course there is Black and Rockliff!

Do you guys see any dramas with having both Swan and Pendlebury in the mids (bye aside)?

Griffin Boyd Cross Cooney Wallis Liberatore Smith with Hrovat & Macrae to be introduced Dogs may have a dysfunctional forward half and a leaky inexperienced back half, but their mids are as good as any going around.

As good as any??? - Okay they are handy but they certainly aren't as good as quite a few of the top sides, Swans, Pies, Blues, Crows just to name a few

Blues ? Seriously ?
West Coast maybe.

I was speaking figuratively ayway, as the poster I was responding to was dismissive of our mids, intimating Koby Stevens had greater SC JS as he had nobody around him.

It is also evident if a team closer to the bottom end of the ladder is up with best in clearances & contested possies stats. suggests the midfield is uderrated.

marc murphy, joel selwood, deledio or cotchin

my mid
ablett, pendlebuty, jp kennedy, selwood, fyfe, wines, o'mera, mitchell (viney, kommer)

Dal Santo is also the easiest to tag, he doesnt cope that well with a hard tag.

I like Cotchin or Murphy. Flip a coin for either.

But in all honestly, any of those 4 would look good in your midfield.

Whoops got the wrong Stevens but regarding Koby, Boyd is out, Cooney only has one knee, Griffen is excellent probably a fraction below elite, Wallis, Libba have they even played 50 yet?. Smith disposal is questionable & including Hrovat & Macrae when they haven't even played a game?

Should I include Broomhead & Kennedy for the Pies?

Really? lol, bias is coming through.

Boyd yes, but he's injured. Griffin yes, he's good. Cross has dropped, Cooney 4evr injured, Wallis, Libba and Smith are good but raw, and Hrovat and Macrae haven't played, so you can barely rate them. Overall, 2 good midfielders in that group, one of which is injured. To call WBD midfield one of the best in the league is laughable.

Reckon Cooney could take it up a level this year, however our midfield is no-where near the top level of say Collingwood/ Hawthorn/ Geelong, however it is miles ahead of our forward line.

At $400,000 Cooney's really tempting, he reckons he's got over this knee infection.

What are everyones thoughts on selecting Joel Selwood as POD?

He just worries me because of the way he attacks the ball, he could get KO'd at any minute and if its not that, then he spends half his time on the bench getting his head bandaged back together. Maybe the new sliding rule will help him? Not sure. He can certainly score at a good price.

new sliding rule i think hurts Jelwood, suddenly he is charging into peoples legs which is a free against (I think..rule may have changed over bloody night)

He will soon work out that sliding into a contest head first is no longer the way to do it. If he keeps his feet he may have less head clashes and not spend so much time getting bandaged back together.

Well Lower killed me. Completley took Rich out of the game. I really hope this isnt a sign of things to come. Have high hopes for Rich this year after his pre season. But if he can get tagged out of the game that easily, you have to assume he is going to cop it every week.

87 points today. He'll score decently, but most likely fall short of being a premium.
Remember this is just after a knee drain, he's more likely to decline his output from here than increase.
