certainly not in comparison to the Scully compo...
Forget that at the time it was probably the right move by the afl , now ward would be worth more no doubt about it , he is my fav player still even though he is at Gws ... We recruited ward with pick 19 and in the end when he left got pick 6 very fair because we ended up with macrae

yeah was probably fair by itself - more so the awarding of two early first rounders for Scully that wasn't!

He was a number one draft pick that got a huge contract only reason Melbourne got the better end of the deal... Scully wouldn't make our best 22

Wizard17 how do you like this one? ;)

Keep our top tenner and take him if he's there. No being cute moving into the teens to see if he's still there. Like Bonts last year he's the most talented player in the draft he'll be there at our pick because the needs of people below us. Take Laverde.

Man, love your stuff....lets get it done. Who we taking with our next pick?

A lot of what we do with pick 6/7 depends on what happens with how the top 10 prospects shape up.
If players like Petracca keep rising into the top 5 a player like Durdin or other KPP would still be available at that pick, I'd take them.
If it's generally accepted that we won't get a top KPP, I'd be happy to trade and be creative.

For all the talk about how bad this draft is and there is very few standout players i reckon its pretty deep and we should be able to get a player like Mckenzie, Menadue, Smith, Nelson, Vickers-Willis, Viojo Rainbow, Keitel (optimistic) etc, etc at pick 26/27. Anyone have any REALISTIC preferences (aka not Duggan :p Can't see him lasting past pick 15) besides Mckenzie?

I actually think he is a lot like Nat Fyfe to be honest, from footage Ive seen of Fyfe
but more filled out and a better kick, at the same age I mean

right now, I'd be happy with Marchbank or Laverde; obviously Petracca if he slid
our recruiters would have a fair idea which players would likely go in the first 20
GC probably wouldn't even want just the pick though, probably ask for more
but its really anyones guess, some recruiters might say the draft is even; but really just want one player especially

depends what we get with our first
Keitel is MAYBE optimistic, some really think he is a shot to slide into the second round if clubs aren't going to be picking on needs
I haven't gave too much thought to our second round pick  could go with a Josh Fox though; if not McKenzie
or try to snag both if Higgins leaves and its a Band 3 pick :(

Should just target our own backyard, the Western Jets ;).

Trade our pick 6 for Gold Coasts 10 and 15, draft Duggan and Lavarde, then Ellis with our next pick. :D

Picking McCarthy with Jones, Taylor and Merrett still on the board when you already have a million KP's is the most hilarious draft choice of all time.
That was disgraceful, the kid should be a Fremantle player. I hope Apeness goes ok for them but they've got too many Ruck/Fwd utilities.

Ellis is another left footer, it's like we'll have a mix of Hawthorn (lefties) and Freo (big bodied mids) types in the team soon :p

Even if we drafted a KPP with our first like Marchbank I still wouldn't mind taking Mckenzie with our second, you can never have enough A grade mids but i mean our future midfield consists of:

C: Hrovrat - Macrae - Bontempelli
R: Campbell - Liberatore - Smith/Wallis

With Stringer (who i think will make it to a full time mid and start demolishing), Dahlhaus, Hunter and Honeychurch rotating through, not even mentioning Griffen who should be good for another five years. Pretty ****ing amazing and I'd say itll be the second best midfield in 3 or 4 years time.

Marchbank down at CHB with Roughy and Talia (I think he will make it) in the backline while we have Mckenzie and Jones up forward would really help us with our issues. We need to combat the teams who are going to be peaking when we are (****ing GWS and GC) our plan with GC is tall midfielders well Marchbank, Roughy and Talia/Roberts will get to take on the GWS 3 - Cameron, Patton and Boyd. I know drafting a gun back is never as exciting as a Key Forward or Midfieder but we could certainly strengthen our weakest area which is the forward and backline in this draft which has highly prized KPP, I don't think there are too many KPP coming through next year either. I guess adding a KPF and a KPD is going to gain more in our side as we fix the weakest areas while the midfield is glowing or will glow.

But a Spine of this looks pretty sweet obviously still have one Roberts or Talia who can take the Third Tall and we Cordy (who I don't think will ever make it a 3rd tall/ruck opinion)
FB: Roughead
CHB: Marchbank
R:Campbell
F: Jones
FF: Mckenzie

Playing a bit of devils advocate because I'd love another Star Mid and keen on Jayden Laverde who can also play across half back :). I Just wouldn't be surprised to see the club unleash and get 2 KPP's asuming that they are there, although i also read they wanted to get ready made players and KPP's take time so who knows! Next year we will probably have a pick 9-12 and can go best available mid or a pacey type like a Rioli, Jetta, Yarran etc

I think there are some people who'd love if we went down that path
a bit like when we picked up Ayce Cordy, Jones and Roughead the same year
some of the phantom drafts don't have Fox mentioned, so he might be an option later

and devils avocado :p

why I prefer Marchbank over Goddard is simple, because he wins a lot of the ball and marks every thing that comes at him
and Goddard I think is a lot like our Roughead; I like the KPPs to have different styles
if that makes sense?

and yes we can get a midfielder next year, this is true

If Higgins does go, probably increases our options of getting a KPP with an early pick
could see a Laverde/Ellis sliding into the second round if we took Marchbank at our first and the other clubs wanted to get their hands on the KPPs before their second pick, because some clubs will draft based on needs/for the future

I'd say McKenzie in the second round would be a bit early, but if our 3rd was committed to Zaine; wouldn't have much of a choice

like someone else said, hope we don't try to get cute and trade down, just in case a player we really want presents himself

I think we still have problems at half back, what is going on with Fuller? Is he injured or has he just been disappointing? Darley and Johanissen are solid back there and Easton Wood is starting to blossom but he's more of an intercepter/BP type, we need a left footer with great kicking penetration still, would there be anyone available in 2nd/3rd/4th rounds

Harrison Wigg at our second pick I wouldn't mind. Brett Anderson said 'he is the best kick of the footy he's seen, ever'. Big wraps.
