i think any club drafting Lamb will do so with the intention of playing him in the midfield, resting him in the forward.
IMO he's very similar to Everitt, very handy up forward but can't be the focal point.

He has two unique traits that are very uncommon together, X factor and endurance. Too often do player has huge X factor but no endurance or high endurance but far too vanilla.

I have always had him in the 5-10 draft bracket with rumors of him failing down the pecking order due to behavioural problems.

If we keep #6 I wouldn't be upset if we used it on him.

There was a bloke last year with supreme x-factor who slid down the order to the point he nearly didn't get drafted - Jon Marsh at pick 77

Similarities?

Marsh (who I had in my top 20 last year) has blistering pace but don't let him use the ball, there's a reason Collingwood are playing him at full back.
I think I'd trust the ball in Lambs hands a little more, I believe he'll be a better player than Marsh and where lucky he's a Victorian because if he was a West Australian the Eagles would have exacerbated his bad boy reputation and pick him up for there second rounder like they did with Darling.

His coach sees his best position as half back flank. I would see him starting his career half forward with brief rotations through the midfield.
He's one of those players with amazing talent that could either be a boom or a bust. May be available around the 15-20 mark or a club may opt to take a punt in the top 10.

I'm keen where do you think he will fall.
Whatever club gets him will forever be associated with Dayle potentially coming back to football
He's Jeffy's cousin too. Hopefully our issues with Jeffy don't put us off....I'm probably just overthinking it.

I think the club would know that Jeffys situation is a unique situation and that shouldn't have any Rendell like ramifications on our recruiting.
For what it's worth if jeff never played another game for Carlton he'd still be a success. rookie listed 100 games and a shy off 200 goals is very good.

I meant more if Jeffy doesn't like us anymore, maybe his cousin won't and that might put us off.

hmmm good point, but coming from my own family experience my cousins have no bearing on what, who or how I like an institution.
But they may be closer I guess. If so I'm sure there is another youngster out there dying to play for the navy blue.

I'll say... My cousins all barack for the filth.

I suspect that the indigenous boys families are a lot closer than your traditional Anglo Aussie family, but what can't be questioned is the Garlett family has serious talent Jeffy, Dayle, Jarrod.. I will always remember reading the story on the year before Jeffy got drafted to us, he was playing WAFL and living out of a car and the only food he was eating was when he was training. I have never respected a player more for working through adversity to make it.

I keep thinking of that story too......there was another one that said he'd never leave us :(

Our best chance of getting a slider is 1. If Melbourne don't get gifted pick 3 and 2. Collingwood get pick 4 from Brisbane.

Collingwood would have more chance picking up a bolter due to already picking up Moore.

1. St Kilda - Petrecca
2. Melbourne - Brayshaw
3. GWS - Lever/Wright/McCartin
4. Collingwood - Bolter
5. Western Bulldogs - Lever/Wright/McCartin
6. Carlton - Lever/Wright/McCartin

If we get McCartin at 6, I'll forgive all your other posts :p :p

I'd be more than happy if we could do a deal for Indiana Jones.
Pros : Has a knack of extracting the goods
Will shoot opponents dead if challenged
Always ends up in the winners circle
Cons : Is showing his age
Would likely require pick 6
