Game playing by Essendon* and Melbourne could see a couple of really unexpected sliders.

Hypothetically speaking, what would happen if the following happened:

Pick 3: Clayton Oliver goes to Melbourne
Pick 4: Charlie Curnow goes to Essendon*
Pick 5: Aaron Francis goes to Essendon*
Pick 6: Callum Ah Chee goes to GC17
Pick 7: Harry McKay goes to Melbourne

What happens next?
We go best available = Parish. Weideman may still be there at #10 if Adelaide go a local like Burton or Milera. But Parish and Collins would be perfect.

We will take McKay at #8 because either the Crows or the Suns will at #9 or #10 meaning that he won't be there at #11. Thing is, they won't take Curnow because he has been telling the interstate clubs he will only be staying for the minimum first contract, will want to get back to Victoria as soon as it expires. Neither of those clubs will want to take that risk so he'll slide past them from #8 to #11.

Didn't Wines say that to Port when he was drafted?
Not doubting your word TS, but players once they are at a club do tend to stay and not leave after 2 years.

Very unlikely this will happen, but we might take Weideman at 8 and see what happens at 11.
Not sure I can see Curnow going that high at 4 though.

She effectively has.
She confirmed Emma Quale's picks for us.
Fair enough, I hadn't seen that. Still I'm not convinced this is much of a leak. Hardly groundbreaking that we would select the key forward that we have followed closely and the slider. Things could change depending on how

Given Weitering, KJ and Plowman have ability to play forward and there are no great forwards in this draft after Schache and weideman, Why Not?

Curnow is unlikely to slide to 19 and it would not surprise if he was preferred to Parish as clubs want big bodied mids.
However, if he did slide to #19 I am sure the AFL would immediately introduce a Carlton Rule so we get penalised for draft tampering.

That's called arguing for the sake of it.

Personally I think that Adelaide has committed to taking Burton at 10. Which, if Weiderman has slide to pick 8, would mean that he would be there at pick 11 for us.

I really, really hope Melbourne somehow stuff this draft completely up and we end up getting Oliver @ #8, Not looking likely though!
And I'm not that keen on Harry McKay with picks 8 or 11, I think I'd rather take Collins if the talk of maybe getting Tomilson next year is actually true

I agree on Collins.

Looked at highlights of him last night and he looked impressive. Looked at the 'highlights' of Harry McKay and the only thing missing was the Benny Hill music.

Not clean with his hands and average kick. I can't understand the love for him on here.

I'm not looking over the players and picks, just trusting you.
If so then you take Weideman surely. Kid looks the goods IMO.

If Parish has also slide to pick 8, as per my example, we would take Parish at 8 and Weiderman at 11.

Weitering, McKay, Curnow... that's three very promising selections if they fall that way. On potential it outdoes the last 7 years of drafting combined.

Now we must believe that Bolton and his team can develop players the way that nobody has been able to develop them at the club for the last 15 years.

Not sure about going all in like this but could it be possible to have two pairs of brothers on our list and sort out KP in the one draft? I was hoping for a mid but wouldn't be upset if it fell this way. Even with this I'd like to add Tomlinson next year.
