Don't know why but I'm really not interested in Ah Chee.

I fear he simply may not ever get enough ball and, unless Cyril like, not effective enough including the defensive side for the value of the pick given smaller type unlike Burgoyne and not that big of a difference due to the forward options we have including Edwards and Yarran

Didn't know much about him. Checked out his draft video and a couple points I like;

Ready tcompliment dy
Has a tank 14.2 beep which is pretty good for key position
Not 18 until December - he could conceivably grow another couple cm
Nice kick
Seems like a solid citizen
Only knock from what I saw was explosiveness/speed but he can work on that

Could be our long term replacement for Rance - really like what I see

I like his 14+ beep. That is a real bonus given his size and an indication of application to.

I like his age but I think he could be a good compliment with Grimes who is lighter but quicker. I think he gives our back line a lot more flexibility because he has the one on one presence we lack without Rance and he has agility in the bigger defender types we lack to be a truly effective defensive unit.

I really like the Rance/Grimes/and Collins combo. It allows us to play another taller defender if need be with his agility and it gives Rance greater flexibility to play different roles to be more effective and give him more longevity.

What I really like about Collins as a defender is his his movement agility and nimbleness which is critical IMO. He still allows us to chase the likes of other KPP options, particularly of the swingman variety, as well given his 194/193 height provides us the necessary role flexibility and how he can he utilised with Rance as well as Grimes.

Problem is nobody knows if he will be Cyril like. Hell nobody knew if Cyril was going to be Cyril like when he got drafted. He was passed up by almost a dozen teams before Hawthorn picked him. So if Ah Chee became the next Walters/Rioli/Burgoyne the team that picks him will be celebrated. Yet if he becomes the next Tambling the team that picks him will be heavily criticised. Wish we had a crystal ball.....

It is easy for me. If he had Cyrils blood lines and real classy form in U18 one would take a punt. Really for me I think pick 12 is a bit early for him, that's just my gut feel. Maybe pick 18 or so but not pick 12 for me.

If we did not have Edwards, Yarran and other holes there might be a case as well us other forward options including Short and resting mids. But for me pick 12 for a small forward unless exceptional in real class is just too big a gamble. Better off getting them later like the Bulldogs chased McLean in the 40's I think

Ah chee is nothing like rioli hes a varcoe courtney dempsey type player.
We will regret letting daniel rioli going past pick 15. Hes the exact type of player we need.
Who cares if hes not worth taking at 15 he fits a need he will be gone by 25 anyway

Not that it has any relevance but Collins, Weideman and Tom Cole are all Richmond supporters.

Given that, would love Collins.

I think it's a few pages back someone posted a photograph of Oliver with Tiger's gear on...
That was because he had a week at Richmond as part of his U18 year and played with the VFL team
Collins would be an immediate upgrade on Batchelor.
Completely different type of player, he'd be a potential Chaplin replacement and would be competing with Elton & Astbury for a spot

Don't forget about Oliver

SEN's take on our draft selections:
http://www.sen.com.au/news/11-15/on-the-clock-richmond-draft-preview#hyEy1YF432EteEWv.97

Pick 1 Ah Chee / Gresham / Mattheson
Pick 2 Hardwick
Pick 3 Mitch King / Josh Porter

Hardwick seems a bit one dimensional, not sure if there are better options for small forwards.
Mitch King sounds like a safe bet (if no injury concerns), but would prefer to get Gach as he offers more upside.

Almost 100% we'll draft Porter in the National Draft or Rookie.

He barracked for Brisbane.

And forget him. There's talk he'll be going top five now.

Nah, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Adelaide all keen on him. Melbourne at 7, Gold Coast at 8 and Crows at 9.

Top 5 that aren't academy at this stage IMO are Weitering, Schache, Weideman, Parish and Curnow/Francis.
