I'm suggesting what's obvious; that comments regarding the availability of players with long term injuries are not always accurate, and definitely should not be taken as gospel.

Nothing was said about Clark. But he was still named on the "short-term" list, which we now know could mean anything up to 4 weeks away from playing.

New injury list on the AFL website too. Key points:

* Bartel removed from injury list (last week: test)
* Cocky from 1 week to test
* Cowan from Test to 2 weeks
* Cunico from 6 weeks to 4 weeks (although NIB says a test?)
* Clark from 1 week to TBC (suspect this may be depression related)
* Duncan from 3-5 weeks to 2-4 weeks
* Horlin-Smith removed from the list
* HMac from 4 weeks to 3 weeks
* Menzel from 3 weeks to test (OHGOD OHGOD OHGOD)
* Murdoch remains a test
* Vardy from 5 weeks to 2 weeks

All told the injury list has dropped from 16 to 14, with 5 of those being tests (Cocky, Gore, Kelly, Menzel & Murdoch). Given that Gore played VFL I assume his inclusion in the list was a mistake.

Just mentioned on the footy show reinjured hes calf will be out for at least two more weeks

He is back running for a couple of weeks now. Wouldn't think a limp is normal. Hopefully nothing to it.

After recovery from a leg injury, it's still very often difficult to stop limping. The head says it's OK, but the body doesn't listen.

Happily our injury list this week has dropped from 14 to 11 (Sel is on there as suspended). 3 of the 11 are listed as test. Key points:

* Clark from TBC to 2 weeks
* Cocky remains on the list as a test
* Cowan still 2 weeks
* Cunico from 4 weeks to test (I think he played VFL last week?)
* Duncan from 2-4 weeks to 2 weeks
* HMac still 3 weeks
* Menzel test with a foot?
* Vardy still 2 weeks

Delaney showing as 4-6 weeks, didn't keep track of what he was last week.

Surely he's just trying to lift people's spirits with that. I'm sure the medical staff know best, but I really hope we don't rush him back too early. The last thing we need is for him to go down again

Leave him out for the season. We are no chance of doing any damage in finals, even if we make it.

This is the key for me.

I know there was talk about options to get him back soonest from the medical team when he broke the foot.

I just don't need him a boot in 3 weeks time as the screws and pins have flared up in his foot.

There is just no need to rush this. They go ultra conservative with every other player, Mitch should be no different. not saying they have not been but based on the timelines publicized, this soon does not match ultra conservative IMO.
