With all this Trade talk im yet to work out how our scoring issue will be fixed. We are still in need of a key forward. Where will this come from?

One year at a time. This year the way the chips fall Weitering is the man. We'll have another bad year but look at a key forward next year.

In the mean time it will be about developing Jaksch, Foster and Silvagni upforward whilst letting Casboult continue to improve and hoping Jones does something.

At least I hope that's the focus.

Fair call, would you try and get a young key forward in next years draft or try and land a big fish or both?

I would suggest it's not a priority.

More likely that the priorities will be to nail down a 'team defence' and 'team attack' game plan that:

- stiffens up the defence and stop getting scored heavily against
- concentrates on high level tackling preassure all over the field
- improves disposal skills to reduce the number of turnovers
- attacks on the back of pressured turnovers through the midfield and halfback
- dominates teams in the contested ball count

I think the trading and drafting will concentrate on the skill set and mindset that fits Bolts game plan and team first mantra. The scoring will come as a bi-product of the above. Hence his "sum of the parts" and "one soldier falls down another takes his place" lines. There should be no reliance on any one man

Stevo just said Richmond not prepared to give up aa first round pick for Yarran... there 2nd is no where near enough and unless something better is offered i would hold onto him... worst case is he sits out the whole year and we would prob still get band 2 compo next year. Best case he finds his love of the game again under Bolton and re-signs with the blues.

So basically putting him on the rookie list and don't give him a senior spot for 2 years.
Don't see it happening maybe next year but I don't think our salary cap is that tight right now with all retirements and player movements.
Yeah but he's garbage and earning over 200k/year so why not? Would be one of the highest paid players on the rookie list.

Several other clubs have done it over the journey.

Still scratching my head over that 3 year contract. I wonder if the person or persons who put that deal together actually sleep well at night.

So in other words they both sleep soundly at night cause they don't give a flyin **** right now. Yeah thanks fellas.

Just speculating, but Mick would have ticked him off as a player he wanted and Shane was at the forefront of a lot of our discussions last year with player movements.

Can't see him getting a game next year anyway so rookie list is the best option
Yeah interesting. I think the same but then I thought their hands were tied with two years left on his contract, until I read that article by Scoop. Execute that loophole I say. And I reckon Andy McKay may have been involved in some shape in relation to 'that' contract. (just speculating too:))

I over heard someone at work saying that Blues might get Steve Johnson on 3 year contract 1 as player 2 as assistant coach true or false?
