Mods, unless I'm mistaken, one of the tigers fans made a cogent, educated reply to my post. Instead of deleting you should preserve it as the first and last of its kind.

They have 1000 monkeys, operating 1000 accounts. Odds are they generate one coherent response....

It was the best of tiges, it was the blurst of tiges.

A question for all Carlton people. What sought of backlash do you think the club will get if we accept 2nd rounders and walker for Yarren and Henderson?

Second rounders in a draft as weak as this would be totally, totally unacceptable. I'd rather we just let them walk to show other clubs that we won't be bent over like that. A fair, honest trade or **** off!!

How can two players with proven top-level abillity be worth what amounts to a couple of speculative picks? It's bullshit!

Other players that we've let go for peanuts the last few years have had no issues getting back on the horse at their new clubs. If we let these guys go for second rounders I'm pretty sure that 17 other clubs will be laughing at us, and we'll ****ing deserve it.

Watching the delayed telecast of The Footy Show here in Sydney, Damian Barrett is talking about the Talia brothers leaked info story and there was an interview with player manager Liam Pickering who stated categorically that Michael Talia certainly won't be at the Dogs next year.

There's a player to make a serious play for right there !!

Crows playing hard ball with Dangerfield effectively takes Geelong out of the picture in being able to offer a first round pick for Henderson... I wonder who else might put there hand up? I have always thought Freo makes the most sense as they need key backs and fwds to replace Mcpharlin and Pav.. Freos first should get the job done.

Like we did with Mitch Robinson and Jeff Garlett last year, that worked out well for us..

Difference is we wouldnt offer them contracts.

If we offer Hendo a contract, he has to go via PSD like Tutt - and someone like Essendon will pick him up. Yarran is contracted.

A bit differen't only Henderson is uncontracted. And I would say we would love to have Lachlan Henderson at the club and if you are not willing to provide us with fair compensation then we will happily redraft him in the PSD.

As for Yarran he is contracted, Tigers you chased him you can give us either this year or next years first round, or you can enjoy watching him play in the VFL as he is a contracted player.

I know Essendon have a bad wrap in relation to trading but i would prefer that then being push overs.

The club should come out and say we will not accept anything less then a first round pick for either of those players...

Have to start looking at future first round picks. Assuming there is no protection on them, a second this year and a first next year would satisfy for Henderson/Yarran.

Gotta love the tiger supporters. Coming in here to brag that they might be able to resign a second year, slow HF who kicked 1 goal in his last 6 games that we don't particularly want.

To think they were saying it was a big mistake for Carlton to win the 2013 EF and drop down the draft order. If only we had been able to pick up Freeman or Lennon instead of Cripps.

Very astute point. Without those events/results (including the win over Richmond), we likely would not have Cripps on our list, who we're all hoping will lead us out of the wilderness.

Just shows the value of shrewd draft selections and development, irrespective of draft position.

Supporter backlash would be fairly harsh, I would guess.

Personally, I'd find it deflating to accept 2nd rounders for two best 22 players. SOS and co would have to manufacture some other good trades/ins to balance out the disappointment. The club needs good news stories.
