Also shows that in that same year trengrove wanted to stay and signed an extension... Hogan, pettracca and brayshaw have all signed extensions because they want to stay

The only relevant one there is Trengove and even he isn't that relevant because he was never offered the Godfather type deal that Scully got from GWS.

Hogan, Brayshaw and Petracca didn't come into the league when two new clubs were about to so using them as examples is wrong and irrelevant.

The relevant part is really simple... They all have signed extensions in there first or second years to stay with us... Scully didnt and never intended too...

Jeffy has been excellent this season, gave us the crumbing presence we've been lacking for a long time but he really needs to work on his set shots.

I do like Yarran's skill set but I'm not sure about the mental side of things for him after watching him pout and sook on the field this season.

I'd be interested in Henderson only if Garland left via FA otherwise not.
That was Garlett pretty much the entire 2014 season in the VFL.

Unfortunately for Carlton it seems when players know they are finished they completely clock off. Just wished they were a bit more like Dangerfield and gaf till the end.

He was regarded as an exceptional talent, signing an extension would mean waiting longer to sign a long term big money deal after your rookie deal.

Would have been a bad business decision on his part.

Are u his manager justifying his geeedy and selfish actions... Prove yourself first then go after big money deals... Prove u are worth them... Bad business or not...

He might want to join him there but Col will only be playing for Boxhill ..
Think Colin would get a game ahead of Frawley to be brutally honest, especially in a good system under a coach who understands the value of KPDs even when they're a bit undersized.

Not justifying anything.

You've just completely flipped your argument, by not signing an extension he aimed to prove himself enough to get that deal and got it from GWS.

Honestly contemplating standing out on the highway hoping to get hit by a truck after this, my God.

I havent flipped my argument at all... I think u need to stand in the highway... By not signi g an extension he proved to the football world he is all about the money and never about being a club player will to sacrifice anything

Stop posting and go back to dland.

Why are people still talking about Scully? He took the unrejectable deal, he's not turned out that well and we got Hogan from the ordeal. Move on!

The thing that was most unique about the Scully deal, is that GWS didn't have to trade for him. It's also unlikely a club will have that sort of salary cap space to throw around again.

We got very lucky, in that our compensation helped secure Hogan, and Scully hasn't come on as expected.

We potentially could have been reemed by this circumstance - imagine the players involved were reversed and it was Hogan we lost and got Scully..

Do people really care if a player wants to leave? seriously of a player wants to go .. who the hell cares .. I just want a team of players that want to play for the Melbourne FC .. if they don't let them go and bring in players that want to play ...

Even if Hogan wanted to go, yes it would piss me off but hey I wouldn't lose a nights sleep .. that's a list managers problem ..
