I don't think he has anywhere near as much say as he did at Carlton. Anyway I think someone who actually knows for sure what he does should answer. :D

Hughesy is our Pro Scout. Looks after the identification of potential targets in the system and potential Free Agents. He reports to Trout, who is THE MAN when a decision needs to be made. Ameet looks after the paperwork!

Not really relevant to this year, but flicking through Emma Quayle's new book in a bookshop. Gives our recruiters' top 20 (F/S and academy picks accounted for) from last year as:
McCartin
Petracca
Brayshaw
Wright
Laverde
De Goey
Weller
Langford
Moore
Duggan
Cockatoo
Garlett
Goddard
Lever
McKenzie
Miller
Ellis
Heeney
Marchbank
Lonie

No boekhurst?

Ahhh Carlton. The gift that just keeps on giving :D

@BrettAndersonIF: @Th3LastEmperor @Saint_Lions OK boys you've been patient enough. It's O'Meara. Nothing more than an enquiry though...might be for next year.

Bit of a risk with an injury that he might never get back from. But what a payoff if he reached his potential and did comeback.

Didn't someone say his knees are stuffed and might not play again ?

Article on afl website: rocket saying he'll be right to start running soon. But, of concern, he also says that while they're happy with his recovery there's always some doubt he'll come back to his best

This Hawthorn Dangerfield thing has got me thinking. Danger will cost cap and a mid field spot of one of their current players. How about our pick 6 which gives the hawks a good player in this years draft and salary cap space for a few years, in exchange we get Hill and one of Shoenmakers or Shiel. Outside speedy mid and a good KP backman or quality mid.

Just an idea.
I'd rather Lonie at full back then Shoenpotato

What about trading our pick 6 for the blues 1st rounder next year?

Blues get to fast track thier rebuild, we most likely get a pick between 1-5 in next years draft.

Go into the 2016 draft with most likely two top 10 picks.

what's next years top end looking like Rahul ?
Don't like it very much because the Blues wouldn't do it. Next year looks like a nice draft, not as sold on the top 6 as I was this year, though.

No Pickett and no Ahern, real interesting

Interesting to see the lads the giants took at 4 and 6 (pickett and ahern are nowhere to be seen and marchbank taken at 7 is rated 19)

Of course all our boys are rated higher than where we got them :p

I think a few posters on here have.
You need to ask Rors ....he ruptured his Patella tendon which runs vertically under the kneecap. It's a very nasty injury...recovery is questionable

we missed Laverde by one pick.. right?
think the Bummers got him with their dodgy "end of first round" pick, that was again the AFL inventing rules as they go and compromising the whole process

Remember something about a lot of basketball players having the same thing and not coming back from it

Think we can cut out the Aish stuff, if Brian said he definitely won't be a Saint I'll back him in.

Been away for a few days and there's 30 odd pages more! Fair effort, here's my 2 cents.

Tom Lynch is a nice player, not sure why people are ridiculing Melbourne for chasing him. I'd have him back at STKFC.
Don't want Jaeger, not worth the risk at our 1st in terms of his knees and he's a dog on the field.
I would go after Aaron Hall for sure, he's turned it ON in the past month (a nothing player before that, goes to show what can happen when you're given opportunity).
Nick Haynes. Jet. Would throw a first and big $ at him. Gun.

If Carlton let Henderson (Gee), Yarran (Rich) and Kreuzer (???) go, I suggest that they will get Geelongs 2nd: P30, Richmonds 1st: P15 , and P22 (Compensation). Leaving them with 2, 15, 21, 22, 30
Now I love Parish as a player, and hope that he would be at pick 6 however I doubt that.
Also I feel that Gilbert may be let go and hopefully he may fetch a 2nd round compensation (27)
2. Then trade with Carlton Pick 6, 26 for 15, 21, 22
Leaving us With 15, 21, 22, 27, 45, 63

Trade
1. Pick 6, 26 for Pick 15, 21, 22 (Carlton)
2. 15 for Aish
3. 21 for Hartung
4. 27 for Hall
4. 63 for Barrett (GWS)

Draft
1. 22 for Collins
3. 45 for Rice

I think this is on the money.

Haynes and Hall are the kind of players we trade well for.

Super potential but under valued, as much as I like the idea of a Bennell or Carlisle to our team, I'm not sure we get our success from paying top dollar.

O'meara had the potential at draft time to be a once in 10 years type player but has been massively crippled by injury (a bit like Patton). I don't think the risk pays off for us.

As a side note, and it's second hand info but I have a business with someone who shares a board with an Adelaide board member (different companies if you follow).

He said he's heard it directly that Dangerfield is committed to going to the cats, it's a "done deal".
