Id keep Siposs for sure.

He is a year younger than Markworth and has shown alot more in his time. If he could get a chance on the wing/hbf he would have a decent career IMO.

I would give him a contract before markworth 100%

Agree with this. No offense to him, but I reckon Faz is kidding himself if he thinks he's getting a two year deal from us. He's not in the team at the mo and it's only likely to get harder from this point on, as the younger ones get more ready to make a strong impact in his roles (eg. Acres, Billings, McKenzie, Templeton, perhaps Murdoch and/or Markworth, plus anyone we draft/recruit this offseason) and if Gilbo and Roo continue to play on the wings next year. Think he'll be a ways back in the pecking order, so if he can get a two year deal from another club then I'd encourage him to take it and run.

Of course, he's just trying to negotiate the best deal for himself.

Yeah it's his agent putting something out before he shops him around the league - so they can say he's still wanted by us but he's interested in a different deal elsewhere. Doubt we've offered him a contract at all to be honest.

I'd at least give Markworth the number of opportunities that Siposs has had before making that call.

Siposs had his chance & didn't take it. Marky hasn't yet been given an opportunity to show what he's got.

Gresham and Fiorini both play for the Northern Knights and Vic Metro, and can read each other well. Both had great games today in a thrilling one-point win.

Last week we looked like a different team with Sam Gilbert in the middle. Added another dimension to the midfield having a 194cm contested and tackling machine in the centre. I'm thinking Charlie Curnow could add a really valuable piece to our midfield if he could be that longterm big bodied midfielder.

Potential to be a beast. He seems to be very special. Ability to play middle, then go forward to kick a few, and some X-Factor. Lovely combination.

How good is it to see Gilbo finding good form again.. Seriously he was in recovery for 3 years to get his body right. Kudos to the club and im so happy for him. Was always one of my favs.

Yep absolutely, love the look of curnow, tight call if him mathieson and tucker are all available at 6 although unlikely

I would bite the bullet and move him on. It's not like we're playing finals next year and I can't see him playing beyond next year at the most. The last month he's looked cooked and age has caught up to him. Saying that, I suspect the club will go conservative and keep him on another year.

If we have the natural progression that we'd be hoping to from all those under 22yo on our list and continue to be able to play Riewoldt and Gilbert in the midfield area (giving us significantly more depth there, to go with all the young ones who'd be playing more midfield minutes) then I would 100% be aiming to play finals next year, especially if we happened to add someone ready-to-go, by trading our first pick (eg. an Aish/Kelly type), and/or if we got a Carlisle (and he isn't suspended)/Rory Thompson with our 2nd.

Tommy Curren delisted twice?
Seems harsh.

If we got one trade, three in the draft and two rookie upgrades (seems reasonable), then six would need to give way this year. May be we could be open to rookie-listing up to three?

Sipposs, Saunders and Simpkin needed to have solid games today, and did, but someone has to make way. Pierce maybe safe as he has more value as a ruckman. Lee and Murdoch could be safe due to their pressure, size and kicking skills. Could Sippos be delisted and re-drafted as a rookie now he’s shown some midfield ability?

Loved what he gave us but its time.
Hate the thought of him running around in the magoos or getting flogged in the 1sts.

thats not a lot of depth, so i think if we cant bring one in, it might be handy to keep fisher on, just in case

Gilbert's also capable and I'm predicting we bring in a ready-to-go key defender.
