If it were us, I wouldn't trade 5 and 22 for 12 and 13.
Would need to sweeten the deal for the crows, perhaps with our 3rd for their 4th.

Doesn't seem too bad a trade, but I'm still keen to land another top end midfielder with pick 5. Could Balic fall to pick 13?

100% agree. Opportunities like this might not come around again for a long time. It seems like this is going to be one of the biggest trade periods in recent history, I hope we get involved.

I wouldn't be underestimating the role of emotions in this. I also would say that professionally, clubs weigh up cost and benefit. The cost of shafting you is low. The benefit of shafting you is pretty darn high.


Strange that you didn't pick up that those consequences don't apply to Essendon. I'll say it again, real simple. You don't screw an opposition club, because they may be hard to deal with in future trades. But you guys are always hard to deal with, so screwing you won't make any difference.

Exactly. There is nothing wrong with Carlisle's attitude. If you're at a nice place and you act grumpy, then there's a problem with your attitude. But if you're at a horrible place that has treated you like a pin cushion and you get grumpy, that's sanity.

My knowledge of this years draft is pretty limited. Agreed that if I was Adelaide I wouldn't do the trade.

Heres something to grind your teeth

They **** up trading pick 7 for Whiley and Jackshe then take Busthordt with #19.

They trade in Thomas on huge coin, and also pick up that world beater Liam Jones.

they continue with Malthouse, the players crack it and a woodenspoon ensues.

They lose Kruezer as a FA and get a band 1 compo.

So they will have pick 1 and pick two in the ND

Brisbane will probably have pick 3 and 4.

With Hopper and Mills going to GWS and Sydney, your pick #3 is effectively pick #7 and Carlton will get Scache, and Weitering in the ND and maybe Carlisle in the PSD.

You reckon you hate the AFL at the moment for what they have done to the Dons. Wait until the end of this dp.
