I'm not sure why people continue to bring up the pre season draft when Carlton have the first pick.

Judd, Henderson, Kruezer, Carrazzo, Yarran? Bell. They'll have plenty of space and they have proven before that they are willing to take a player that does not nominate them (Nick Steven)
I wasn't suggesting we take him to the PSD. Just using it as an example of how clubs might treat each other, but don't.

The Ball one if I remember rightly was that he said he preferred the Pies and refused to talk to anyone else. They took him at 30 in the ND. The Carlisle situation is different again, in that he is way younger. And we were being run by idiots at the time.

I'd just hate for us to treat Essendon fairly because they don't deserve it.

If freo win the GF this year maybe pav will retire and their need for a KPF will be even higher.

I still like the trade of:

pick 5 for weller & pick 18. Freo on trade pick 5 for sunshine or Stewart ect.

We on trade pick 18 & our 3rd rounder for Carlisle

Would rather Matheison than Weller and pick 18.

Regardless of whether or not we get Carlisle we still need to find a fast outside midfielder. Rate Aaron Hall quite highly, what do we think he's worth?

And trade 24 & 42 (1180 draft points) to Syd (who need draft points for Mills) for pick 15 (1112 draft points).
Can you imagine how many of those sorts of offers the 4 northern clubs are going to be getting this offseason!? They'll end up auctioning off all their early picks to whoever puts in the highest bid.

Just reported on Ch7 Blues front runners for Carlisle, its a 4 year deal on the table with a trigger for a 5th.

I'm not a Matthew Lloyd fan but I'll go with his mail considering his ties to Essendon and the fact he worked with Carlisle in a one on one coaching capacity throughout the year.

i'm scratching my head at the Kruezer -> Collingwood one...

1). Heaps of clubs looking for a #1 ruckman...yet Kruezer chooses Collingwood where he'll be #2 behind Grundy (assuming Witts leaves)

2). Collingwood already have Witts, and on a relatively low wage i'd imagine. Why trade him out, and then pay $600,000 x 4 years for a #2 ruckman?

If Witts has requested the trade, then that makes things a little different, but i haven't seen any mention of it.

If Carlton and Brisbane are getting Band 1 compo would people be more comfortable trading pick #7 for Carlisle?

Might end up as something like 7 + our 3rd (2015 and/or 2016) for Carlisle and Essendon's second (2015)
if they both get compo it will be 7, but you have to factor in GWS/Sydney likely to get their academy players before that pick too. So likely the 9th choice in the draft.

Trade Ross? No way. His performance will only go up year-to-year.

He's gaining the feel of it and will soon be one of our better players. Has shown great moments of poise and the ability to keep his cool in traffic.

He'll be a taller Sam Mitchell in time ;). He's smart and wants to be a good player, which has cost him in moments where he tries to maneuver a little more than his experience warrants. Glad he goes for it and learns the fast way, despite the odd frustrating free kick.

Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Lucky for Hodge he's not from the Tiwi Islands.

Toby Greene obviously has deep seated cultural issues in his genetic make up. Celtic people are stupid drunks with a history of violence and a lack of civilised behaviour. Anyone who has Irish relatives should remember that thats how they were treated for years.
Honestly I don't know why people complain about free agency compensation so much. This is the exact reason it's here for. A shit team losing one of their best players (well when he's fit at least) so they get a good pick to help fast track their way to the top.

It's idiotic that the weak teams are almost negligent if they match the pay to keep their guns. If Carlton got pick 2 they would need their head read to match his contract. It discourages loyalty and means the top teams get stronger and stronger. It pretty good for the team already challenging ATM but put lower teams into a perpetual rebuild phase. I think the AFL would be happy to have all the poorly followed club perpetually down while the big 5 melbourne teams challenge the interstate teams for evermore.
