Cordy is glacially slow...cannot run. The Doggies , being desperate for bigmen , gave him so many chances. I saw him several times at the Western Oval during the last 2 seasons and he is basically a good average reserves player. Warnock,is at least a skilful tap ruck,otherwise pretty limited, but probably as good an insurance policy as we could get at this stage. Daw ,unfortunately, faces court next month.
Not necessarily. Once the club declared that they wouldn't be offering Jed another contract no other club was going to pick him up through any means other then as a delisted free agent and the delisted free agency period doesn't open until this Saturday. Even if he doesn't get picked up Jed has a young family to take care of now so it is unlikely he would have been in a position to take a significant pay cut at the club without at least trying to negotiate for a better deal but the club then continued to take it off the table.
Aside from the legal issues, I wouldn't go near Majak Daw. Aside from a few highlights, when he has played at AFL level he looks lost. The intuitive football nous that players learn growing up playing the game is missing.
