Hi Hawks fans, this is my first post on BF! One of my true loves of the Hawks is their ability to draft and trade.
I thought the recruitment of Jono O'rourke and Chip, were great gets last year, I also think the 3 youngsters we drafted have shown a lot of promise as well (looking forward to getting another look at Howe tomorrow).
For me Dangerfield talk is ridiculous , just won't happen. I'd be happy to see Suckling go, I don't think he goes hard enough and gets too fancy at times.
I would like it if we got Yarren at the right price, also would like to go after Josh Kelly from Gws( not sure of his contract situation) some young bookends should be high on our list as well. Thoughts?

The General still has parents in Hawthorn and barracked for us.. And all his mates egged him on to get picked by Hawthorn! But, the price may not be right.
And a risky proposition with his knees. Rumour has it he and Tomlinson are the "Social Captains" of the group.

All the boys love them and are a big part of our clubs "culture build"

And that's why Boyd left. He didn't get in with either of them...

Contracted until end of next year and would cost a lot.

Club has big plans for him.

Ok, only reason I mentioned him was, he has struggled to hold his spot with the endless midfield depth you have. But he has so much talent, just wasn't sure where he was in the pecking order.
Only because he was playing poor mate.
Second year syndrome hit him. Not as bad as it affected others but it affected him none the least.

No team can afford to carry a player struggling for form that bad, even your mighty Hawks would draw a line in the sand. (Probably why you blokes are so damn good)

He wasn't dropped for any other reason than he was playing badly. If you want to believe otherwise, maybe barrack for St Kilda...

That is because Dangerfield recently changed his name to dangerhawk. In the press conference patty said it had nothing to do with his decision to leave Adelaide but I think we can read between the lines.
I think Patrick and his girl would like to drive an Audi over a Ford ;)

What are people's thoughts on Jake Carlise? Also if Charlie Dixon stays, Sam Day would be a good target IMO, this draft is supposedly the weakest in over a decade and it's not like we will have a top 5 pick!

St Kilda! Lol
I only put his name out there because I rate him so highly, I totally get what you're saying, Leon Cameron is building a culture and obviously rewarding players based on form, eg dropping McCarthy and Kelly! I just wasn't sure if there was more in it, I think you would call it wishful thinking from a hawks fan!!

Unless he wanted to go back to Melbourne, the club would never trade him.
Speaking to his mum she says he loves it up here. Not like she's going to say he hates it though is she?
Wouldn't surprise me if his name is bandied about be captain in a couple of years time. He's a freaking jet and would be a walk up start to every team in the comp....when he's in form.

Totally agree, he will be a household name in a couple of years!!

He goes alright, the kid!!
Yo dude did you used to support the swans then changed to the Giants? Like how did you end up supporting the Giants?
I can't respect someone who changes team you just can't do that hahahah,
I've always wondered were the Giants and suns supporters neutrals before supporting there teams

If you guys had a choice between Dangerfield and Treloar who would you pick?

After discussing if Mitchell is better then Yarran, and who is better out of Hodge Mitchell and Burgoyne, this question comes as a breath of fresh air.

Treloar. Likely to play well longer

Dangerfield is a proven jet who you could build a midfield around right now. He has explosiveness that can't be taught.

Treloar will probably be an elite player in a couple of years in the right environment. He doesn't have the same explosiveness as Danger but is probably a more reliable user of the ball

I'd rather Dangerfield as he would compliment guys like Shiels, Lewis and Howe and add to the explosiveness and ability to go forward that Jed and Langford have.

My heart says Dangerfield but my head says Treloar. As crazywildhorse said Treloar is going to give you more years of service than Danger. I also wonder whether Danger will lose his major asset, his pace as he gets over 30. It seems to me players like Mitchell, who don't rely on outright pace seem to have longer careers. Judd would be the example of a player who lost his pace and subsequently lost his advantage. With all of that said, if we got either this trade period I would declare it a success regardless of what else we do.

Treloar, is the most like for like for like player that I think I have seen for Shaun Burgoyne. Enough said.

And I've similarly thought that danger is the ideal replacement for Burgoyne. What do they say about great minds think alike, well that ain't us. Would be very happy if burgers was replaced by either tho.

Why do we need to choose between them, Why not both?

Trade 2015 first rounder + 2016 second rounder + Anderson + the compensation pick we get for Suckling (second rounder most likely) for Treloar

Throw some cash at Dangerfield.

Is it Possible we get both.

Not gonna happen, might as well try!! :D:p
