I like this. The guy is no Dean Cox, but he's certainly shown enough to be a very solid backup. If he can go forward as well, it makes him a good replacement for Ceglar (who in turn is replacing Hale).

EDIT: The only downside is he has terrible facial hair, so hopefully the boys can fix that shit for him

Played the first three games without having any impact, albeit he was knocked out in the opening match. Played well in the VFL as a ruckman-forward and was given another opportunity late in the season, playing the final two games and kicking four goals. With Melbourne still trying to fill the ruck-forward spot, he will be given every chance to prove his ability.

I can understand getting Fitzpatrick.

If one of Cegler or McEvoy go down and Pittonet isnt looking physically ready, then its important to have a mature-aged body as a backup.

Remember watching Box Hill vs. Casey last year. Litherland was streaming through the middle towards goal, Fitzpatrick chased, couldn't quite catch him but gave him enough trouble that he won a free kick as Litherland had run too far. Bloke has serious wheels on him

I would not be surprised if we draft or trade in another ruckman. Depth is always good. It needs to be someone who won't cost us much. I expected it might be Gorringe but if the club thinks Fitzpatrick is the best option then I will trust their judgement.

He won the prestigious "Dont come Monday" award on Fox Footy. Was a funny segment. Apparently and rightfully so copped a lot of shit for that tunnel ball effort. Helped to get him delisted also.
