we play under the same rules as every other Vic club...we dont get the advantages of the Swans...it is not our fault we are good and better than your club....your club needs to learn from hawthorn and try and get better...alternatively come to the family club....the cats have half a team from other clubs and no ones complaining as they shouldnt if teams have the same cap and rules

Refer to other post, there is no need to be condescending about it. I said, I have respect for how you guys go about it and agree that you operate within the rules. I am not sure how old you are, but don't forget your club almost folded just 5 years after a dominant run? I doubt a Hawthorn supporter who lived through that period would come across this arrogant.

My point is, we are never going to match it with you guys over the long term as you have double the supporter base. We can't just "Be more like Hawthorn" and instantly be better. You are working with a bigger target market. You also have more resources to attract future fans and dollars to the club. If we want a competition where the same sides win constantly such as the premier league, because they they are bigger more powerful, better placed financially, than so be it. That is currently what we have.

I am not saying I know what the answers are, but it is clear to me the game is going down a certain path. If you are not on top of the tree it is not one that is particularly exciting.

That is exactly the point. You can continue to offer unders from a financial perspective and blokes will cop it because you keep winning GF's, have better facilities, more business opportunities post career etc. As football becomes more and more professional the smaller clubs are well and truly screwed. I don't expect you to understand what this feels like.

FWIW, it is totally not your fault. You are operating within the rules and you are doing it with aplomb. Just highlighting that equalisation is a complete farce.

15 Is getting you Anderson and 41 though. That's about right. If he gets his body right, he will be a genuine star

Definite overs. Not necessarily on ability (he has that) but on output and work rate I think it is overs.

I would be very happy if we get Carlisle. His best is excellent and we just make players better.

I am sure once all the minnow 100+ year old sides finally fold you might actually miss us as you play GF's against soulless start ups GWS & Gold Coast.
