22 games since 2009. He has managed a season.....for Melbourne. Having said that he is about to turn 25 and is in his prime for a ruckman.:straining:

Well you can always report me but I think it's a worthwhile conversation.

I don't think Breust had a great season. His first final against the eagles was woeful. Even worse and one thing I cannot stand seeing from a Hawthorn footballer is that he squibbed a contest. Admittedly, he redeemed himself in the later finals; I think it was 6 in the Adelaide final and even though I don't think he kicked a goal in the GF he did some useful things.

In my opinion, though he has already peaked. The problem I have with Breust is that he isn't a natural footballer. Sees the football in the forward line and runs straight at it, at times you need to hold back and let the player running onto the ball who is heading towards the goals that opportunity. Look at the GF, Hawthorn's first goal in the third quarter kicked ultimately by Schoenmakers, Breust almost knocks Rioli over when before he centres that ball, he has little awareness about creating space in the forward line. As a forward he suffers from being robotic which is not a good thing as a small forward needs a big bag of tricks to beat their opponent.

Breust is a seagull and gets a lot of goals from stoppages and from being fed by the accurate disposal into Hawthorn's forward line. I think it is a skillset that can be replaced. Trading Breust and possibly a third round draft pick in exchange for two top ten draft picks in the 2016 draft plus possibly a fringe player that GWS will let go, works well for both clubs. Hawthorn gets an opportunity of re-building their midfield and GWS gets a local premiership player they want and points towards picking up academy players.

One thing you can be sure of next season is that the opposition is going to adopt a lot more of Hardwick’s tactics to beat Hawthorn. They are not going to zone or allow the uncontested marks which cut up Adelaide, Fremantle and West Coast in the finals. They are going to go man on man a lot more which means the disposal into Hawthorn’s forward line will not be on a platter.

I don’t think a player that won’t back himself to mark the ball out in front and consistently tries to take it in his chest thus allowing his opponent a spoil opportunity cuts it under these changed circumstances i.e. watch the Fremantle and eagles finals. Anderson is a natural footballer, creative who I have no doubt would work beautifully in tandem with Rioli. Anderson can beat a direct opponent, blokes like O’Brien and Sicily can win contested marks.

If these blokes don’t get opportunities they will all look to move on for more opportunities. Trading Breust is the best way I can see for re-building, by getting access to the top end in a strong draft or possibly to make a play for an O’Meara when he comes out of contract at the end of next season.

This is a joke, right?

Inspirational.

In the video you can see that he moves well and has agility for a guy 200cm+.

What are his shortcomings and can they be addressed?

Can we get him rolling Steve Austin “6-million-dollar man” style?

Graham Wright: "Jack Fitzpatrick, footballer, but we're not quite sure because he's been dagging around on Melbourne's List for a 1000 years. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic footballer. Jack Fitzpatrick will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster."

Clarkson: "What do you think Monkey"

Damian Monkhorst: "Clarko, I've got this!"

Hawthorn has made a stunning bid to usurp St Kilda and claim Jake Carlisle from Essendon in a three-way deal involving North Melbourne and Jed Anderson.

Under the deal being negotiated Hawthorn would give up their first round draft pick and Anderson and receive Carlisle from Essendon.

Anderson would go to North Melbourne along with Essendon's pick 41 and the Bombers would receive North's first round pick (15) as well as Hawthorn's (18).

The net effect of the trade would be: Hawthorn gets Carlisle; North gets Anderson and pick 41; Essendon gets picks 15 and 18.
....

The Hawks have a tight salary cap for next year but are expected to have more room the following season with the retirement of older players and an increase in the total player payments from the new collective bargaining agreement.
