I think [insert team you hate the most] will win the wooden spoon.

But there is a small chance [insert team you believe is most likely to win the spoon] will win the spoon.

and wait for gillo's moronic rebuttal?

I think Demons have better forward setup atm depending how Hogan performs and what he brings to the squad

I think Blues midfield is better, more experienced which is the difference for me

Defense Blues still better & depth id say even

You don't have the better defense and we've actually gone and got some depth whereas you've got rid of your experienced players for untried ones.

From all I'm reading about Carlton, they are definitely not coming last, especially if Judd has an injury free year, now that he sounds like he's got his passion for footy back again and what sounds like a full preseason under his belt for a change.

It sounds like they were on the right track in the 2nd half of last season and given a much better preseason for most of their list (and their list in general, now that they have enough out on the park for proper match-simulation, which they didn't have last preseason) I don't see any reason why that won't continue to be the case this year, especially now that MM has had another preaseson to get his message across and has weeded out those that were presumably causing him the most grief (ie. Garlett and Mitch).

If Crameri gets suspended and/or the Doggies get significant injuries and/or they haven't adapted to their new game plan immediately, they are a red-hot chance, along with us.

Looking at their best 22 and knowing how inexperienced their depth is, if our finish to last season doesn't have any lingering effect on our confidence and we had close to our best team out on the park (and they do as well), I would be extremely confident in our ability to beat them and I dare say every other team in the comp would be as well.

Unless Melbourne go backwards (and I doubt it, with another Roos preseason under the belt, plus the additions of Hogan (HUGE!), La Moomba, Garlett, Frost, Newton, Petracca and Brayshaw, who could all impact immediately), or another team just has a complete stinker of a year out of the blue, I think it's a two horse-race between us and WB and think that they are a much, much better value bet at $6 than we are at $1.85 and that it will likely come down to which team has the better injury run (unless our confidence is just shot).

Exactly how is your forward line better than Henderson, Menzel, Casboult and Jones?

Henderson is one of the best centre half forwards in the game right now, an injury free season will show everyone how he can play.

Tough one, honestly is. Feel that Demons maybe have better crumbers along side
Dawes, Hogan, Watts & Dunn

Henderson, Liam Jones & Levi think better marking options and will work well together but my concern is deeper goal spread but think longer the season goes, better game plan and chemistry we will have, keep in mind have turned over a lot of the list, not that it's a bad thing, will help us in the long term

Dunn is a defender, nice job.

Since when did Liam Jones, the guy that struggled to get a game at the Bulldogs who were desperate for a key forward become an asset? They let him go for nothing for a reason.

Dunn pushed forward at times, has kicked 95 career goals

Liam Jones only 23, did struggle at Dogs but was serviceable and did perform well during Bulldogs VFL Final Series. Does need earn his spot and hope his made to earn it but if gets in the seniors he should be good against 2nd or 3rd defender

He spent the entire year at FB, the only time he "pushed forward" was part of a link up for a possession and he'd be right back in defense straight after.

He wasn't serviceable, he was shit.

What's the point ragging on him? We will soon see if he is upto AFL level, have to remain positive

St.Kilda to go B2B on the spoons thanks to Ross Lyon.
Freo's future projection in a few short years when he pisses off again for another up and coming team.

Tbh the defence is the only part that I'd have Carlton being better. I would actually back your midfield over theirs. So good quality kids coming through.

I cant belive the expectation on Hogan. Yes he dominated VFL 2 years ago but so has Liam Mcbean.
I highly doubt he will make that much differnce to Melbourne.
Loosing Frawley shouldnt be overlooked. He is a massive loss and they will struggle to cover him.
Melbournes midfield finally has some depth but without a foward line or defence its useless.
I wouldnt be surprised to see them in the bottom 2 again this year.

Duh, he's at a big club now and they are talking him up so he must be good. Hell, they are even suggesting on the Carlton board that Jones was bullied at the Dogs and that's a big reason as to why he was underperforming.

Wow. That is quite delusional. Those four players combined kicked 81 goals last year. Lance Franklin on his own kicked 79.

Henderson is a good average player but one of the best centre half forwards in the game he is not.

Demons might have a shit forwardline but you are just a second bald man arguing over a hairbrush.
