Umm nah I wasn't into the glass barbie ehFist pumping and getting bloody knuckles from the roof?
How many diversities = premiership? We must have been one of the least diverse teams running around for a while.

You said it wasn't unsuccessful trying to play colledge as a mid instead of a kpp because he was better as a mid. I'd argue he was unsuccessful as a mid and as an AFL player of any kind

I've heard 'friend of a friend' stuff too. Apparently he likes clubbing at Ambar too which helps paint the picture.
Probably just likes shit music
Comes from me. It shouldn't surprise anyone, lots of footy boys like to party. I bet a few of our guys do. I heard bits and pieces about how the Purpos were letting down their hair at the off season wind up, quite festive.
If you've never been off chops at a packed Ambar you've never lived
Dystopian mind control shitness neccesitating chop removal, cos ya wouldn't listen to it in any other state...
It's like watching a freo game drunk
It still has a bit of charm despite all the rinser types. Downside is you can smell the bathroom at the back the moment you enter the club.
Dem stainless steel dunnies! I think the wet areas have been reno'd now.
I know what the conversation was about, I just don't see how you could label anything Colledge did whilst on our list as a success. He is the definition of mediocrity. The conversation was about us using our last 7 first selections on mids. The counter argument was that Colledge wasn't successfully turned into a midfielder. It was a successful transformation as he played as a mid and performed strongly for a while there for East Perth. This is not the same as saying he had a successful career as a midfielder. It also can't be seen as too much of a bust given he was taken late in the third round.
The opposite example is we were unsuccessful in developing Brad Sheppard as a mid as he has remained a medium defender and plays his best football there despite us playing him in the middle and on a forward flank.

We did fail though, how many games as a midfielder did he play for the Eagles? You don't think Sheppard would play well as a midfielder in the WAFL?Spaceclef said we failed to develop him into a midfielder which simply isn't true. You're getting bogged down in semantics here. No one is saying that Colledge had a successful career.

But he was successfully developed into a full time WAFL midfielder, what use was that to our team? He was unequivocally developed into a midfielder only capable of playing in a lesser league, he would have been absolutely rubbish at AFL level so imo he was not in fact successfully turned into a midfielder.Just because he is a shit midfielder it does not mean he is still a KPF. Colledge is a natural midfielder, in terms of his clean hands, ability at ground level, ability to read the play etc. He managed a few 35+ disposal games for East Perth, so he actually knows how to find the ball. Comparatively we failed to turn players such as Darling, Sheppard and Tunbridge into midfielders because their respective attributes didn't allow for it. Yeah I think Shep would struggle to have an impact on-ball for East Perth. Colledge will continue to play as a midfielder for Perth now he has been delisted. Even when he was recruited I believe it was Perth's colts coach said he projected as an oversized midfielder.
The bottom line is Colledge has unequivocally been developed into a full time midfielder and the fact that he sucks doesn't void this.
Do we fail to turn these players into mids because they didn't have the talent to play midfield or we didn't have the talent to develop them as midfielders?Just because he is a shit midfielder it does not mean he is still a KPF. I buy in to the fact that they don't have the nous to play as a mid, but I also think that they should have shown more as mids and half blame the development coaches and how the kids were managed especially during Wooshas back half as a coach.
Did he get found out at AFL? He only played half a quarter.Yeah fair enough. It's hard to say although those players definitely have inherent flaws that prevented them from becoming good mids. Whether other clubs would have done a better job I'm not sure.
The fact that Colledge played there and managed to find the ball consistently suggested that was a successful transformation even if he was found out at AFL level for other flaws (leg speed, foot skills)

I'm not pro colledge his time was well and truly done, just curious how you can make that conclusion
Dalziell was lightningHe played 3 games. Which I get is a small sample size but his leg speed and skill would have struggled to surpass that of Bradd Dalziell.
