******* hell. It's gotten beyond funny now. Feel for Chad here. If only Kern had some balls.

To be honest with you, I didn't see much of an issue with what Chad said. He is the one that has to deal with the SANFL media after a game, why on earth should he protect players that he thinks didn't try or follow instructions. I think the players deserve a smack if thats truly the case. I would have no issues with Heath Younie having a crack publicly at any Crows players he thought had not performed up to standard. Chad didn't name names so who cares.

What the last week or so has shown is that a lot of port players can't handle the cold hard truth. Worst part is the that it seems the players are calling the shots. This will end badly

Oh, i think they'll get what they deserve.

So here's my attempted summary of the Port board and clubs approach

Kochie whacks the players
Boak says he shouldn't have done that
Koch says they need to toughen up if they can't take the heat
The Port board thinks Kochie is right
Kane thinks he's wrong
The Port board thinks Kane's wrong and is turning into his father (that bit's pretty right)
The Crows board think Kane's a knob for protecting Port
The Port board thinks he's a knob for not protecting them
Chad whacks the players
The Port board thinks that's great
Ken thinks it's wrong
The Port board thinks that Ken's wrong about Chad being wrong and wish that Ken would be as outspoken as Chad
The Port board thinks it's odd that Chad and Kane are so different in their approach
The Port board doesn't understand the difference between being a coach and being a media commentator
The Port board thinks if it's ok for Chad to do it then it's ok for Kochie to do it
The Port board doesn't understand the different responsibilities between a coach and a President
The Port board isn't sure whether Kane is a true Port hero or can never be because he's a Cornes
Meanwhile Ken thinks everyone just needs to try harder
And KT just hopes like Christ that they keep turning up to games because they've sold the tarps to fund the purchase of YesWeKen t-shirts

I really don't know why people think there's any problem at the club:)

They are leasing the tarps back for when they play in Chiona

We're still bagging Port (fun I know:D), but they're one win behind us with 7 out of 9 easily winnable games coming up. **** I didn't know their fixture was that soft! I can see it now - will beat all the crappy teams and nek minnit top 4. lololol
Except they've had a pretty soft start and they're 2-3 so unless they pull the finger out they ain't getting close to 7 out of 9.

Nahh, it's only spin and puff when we do it... When they do it, it's revolutionary leadership with a combination of fan interaction and engagement..

But yeah you're right, Shane Warne would be proud of the amount of sh1t being spun on that email..

:thumbsu: I seem to recall 3~4 years ago "KT" sent an email out to the Paer members which was basically a form letter downloaded off the AFL intranet, yet it was praised as an example of outstanding leadership and forward thinking by Causal Keef.

Sando plus Bailey year 1 = good record

Sando on his own year 2, 3 = rapidly diminished returns

In any case being better than Sando (if true) is not the hurdle Kern needs to get over
Hinkley with Walsh/Richardson = good record
Hinkley without decent assistants = poor record

No difference to Sando where Hinkley has been reliant on quality assistants to make him look good.

Niximus - feel free to let the Colonel know...

I just noticed that Benedict Arnold (Dyertribe) has just brought up 119 as being part of Choco's legacy over on the Port board, obviously it must be a rough night over there.

Yep they are ripping into Choco now

I like the reference to "never to be surpassed" 119:D

Yep, you blokes have got the record

That's history in the making record that I doubt will be broken in my lifetime... :)

Port right now is an example of what happens when you put a TV personality in charge of a football club. Kochie is a salesman, he's a politician in training but he lacks in managerial and problem-solving skills. When the team is playing well and you have a good product a salesman is what you want, but when things are falling apart he doesn't know what to do.

Hinkley was a motivational coach, he was pretty much doing a Malcolm Blight impersonation, but after 3 years, just like blight, the motivational power wore off. Kochie looked great because his joining the club coincided with the hinkley honeymoon and Adelaide oval, aswell as $16million dollars from the SANFL.

When someone asked Greg Chappell if he thought he was out of form after a string of 7 ducks in a row . He replied '' I am in good form I just cant stay in long enough''
When Kim Hughes made a duck his junior coach would ring him up and tell him it was the greatest duck ever made, him and Donald Bradman.

It keeps getting better.

Below is an email sent from Keith Thomas to Port members, I believe earlier today (apologies if already posted):

"Dear Members and Supporters,

The world’s best golfer Jack Nicklaus once famously said…

“It takes great courage and skill, to play badly, well.”

In the context of what we as a club are experiencing at the moment, it’s a profound insight.

No athlete or sporting team is immune to difficult times. Losses are part of the package.

But it’s how you handle the tough times that define you as a club, as a team and as individuals.

When things aren’t going to plan, it’s not easy to pull yourself up to see what’s really going on.

Emotions run high, and distractions are everywhere!

But our focus this week has been crystal clear.

Brutal honesty.

Accept responsibility.

Do something about it. Action not words.

I thought Kenny nailed it on Saturday night when he said that ‘never giving in’ doesn’t just apply when you’re coming from behind and winning. In fact, the opposite is true.

The real test for our club is can we stay true to our beliefs when things aren’t going well?

Externally, our commitment is being questioned. Fair enough.

For Port Adelaide, ‘playing badly, well’ is all about sticking together and staying true to our values as a club, come hell or highwater!

Of course it’s about putting your head over the ball when it’s your turn to go.

But it’s also about knowing that no matter how dire the situation looks, our club won’t back off until we find a way to win again.

I’ve said it many times before, and I’ll say it again…the Port Adelaide Football Club is full of people with character, and is supported by an army of members and supporters who care deeply about what happens to this place.

We will not rest until we’ve got it right. And we’ll do it together.

See you at the ‘G.’

KT"

Bombers should be paying player compensation payments from within the cap.

It will be a joke if some of their player payments are excluded so cap space is freed up & they are allowed to utilise this year's space next year to pay overs to keep players.

It's the VFL, of course they will.
