I think it will be our 2nd round pick and a bit extra on the fringes (say our third pick next year for their fourth next year, as an example).

No offence mate, but we wouldnt do it for a second rounder. He's happy to stay, and we're happy to keep him. Best case scenario (for us) thats pick 29 (likely a pick closer to 40 after academy selections and F/S). Touhy is worth more than that, and we wouldnt release him for such a late pick (thats at best a 10 percent chance to come out as good or better).

Melksham got Pick 25. Yarran pick 19. Redden Pick 17.

Something like [your 1st and 2nd] for [Touhy, our second and one of our (two) thirds].

It pushes your first live pick back from 11 (at present) to 23. Its a pretty even top 30 odd this year so its not too steep a price to pay.

Values him at around pick 16-20.

We might get sneaky and offer you Touhy and [something] for your future 1st. Big call though.

Can atley be tried as a fwd
I said that a few months back but got the stock-standard 'we've got Anderson, Garner, Boomer, Turner, Lindsay, Wagner to do that, so no.."

Fast fwd and only LT has played in the 1's for an extended period this year, the others are usually injured or not producing and Boom is history.. so yes.

What would we get pick wise this year if we offer our first round pick next year.

Most clubs would believe we are falling hard and expect us to finish bottom 4-6. If we could get a couple of picks around 10 in this year's draft would it be worth it?

I.e. next year's first for GC pick 9 & 21

The club likes retaining its first pick.

The is absolutely no way they are giving that up for Zach Touhy

Even if we wanted to trade it this year there is no way it's going to be given for a 27 year old back pocket.

He is 26 and plays HBF/Wing
Good player but agree with most that he isn't worth a 1st rounder.
Worth probably 20-25. Maybe next years 2nd could be about right, as Carlton will expect us to bottom out.

I don't mind him but if we give up even our 2nd round for him I'll be dirty.

Just as a reference:
Docherty went at 33
Yeo went at 28

He'll add to our team but the position we are in means our first two picks must be used wisely, not on soon to be 27 year old back pocket players.

I've got more than a sneaky feeling Tuohy is (rightfully) pushing for an extra year on a deal for a little bit more coin with Carlton. If I was there I'd want to keep it up for the rest of my career, better chance of a sustained finals run.
