AFL are pretty much putting it to opposition clubs that if they want Hurley they need to trade for him rather than force the DFA angle. I reckon that is why we chose to walk away rather than continuing to chase him.

I hope Hurley is our main target, he wont cost us a pick/s or player/s (keep our first rounder for a big bodied mid in the ND).

He'll cost $$ but we might as well spend the money on A graders. Much rather pay 900K for Hurley than 700K for Prestia. we'll have plenty of room in the cap too, with Maric, Chaplin, Vickery and possibly Conca freeing up big $$.

If so, it just confirms to me that the guy is the complete moron.
And for that matter, he was the worst player EVER to put on the big V, and only because his thug father insisted upon it...

He rides on his dead fathers coat-tails and puts on sportsman's night entertainment with strippers for god's sake.. What credibility could he have?

AFL have handled essendons cheating increadibly poorly. Bombers have done the wrong thing by the whole afl but especially the players. Now they will get all their players back plus some great draft pics. Go figure. Bombers can have mcbean or conca. That would be more than fair.

That's the idiocy of a system that rewards poor performance and losing games... same with carlton's salary cap cheating, essentially the "punishment" is a couple of years of no draft picks, followed by a reward of higher draft picks in subsequent years for being crap. It's the equivalent putting someone in jail for a couple of years for tax evasion, then giving them a million dollar bonus upon their release.

In what way is he a 40 goal player? That is simply not true. At his very best he kicked 36 goals, and that was 4 years ago. His next best return was 31 last year.
And he refuses to do any ruck work.
He has some value, but less than most think.
