I rate his potential very highly, but don't see why his performances to date would make him a certain selection.

His form at the end of 2016 was pretty irresistible and seems to be projecting higher. Solid game yesterday so hard to imagine he wouldn't be in the mix. Bit early to be talking about certainties though.

I agree his potential is looking really great but he's really not that far away from a break out year. After his blunder against North his second half of the year was great.

Thing that impressed yesterday was his strength compared to the players he will compete against. Really strong over the ball and I think he is ready to make the left foot a weapon. Will be hard to beat one on one, can play the Shaw role.

Peter Daicos was a star from a very young age. Gavin Brown by comparison progressed on a more normal learning curve.

So if Daic jnr is better than his old man at the same age (but behind Brown jnr at the draft) ....then thats additional fuel to my theory he tanked last year!!

Sorry Timmy have to disagree with you there went to high school,
and played footy with him as well and he didn't hit his
straps until probably under 16's

Just finished watching the replay. A few observations:

Phillips is a very solid player in terms of delivery and effort
Smith kicks them flat and low and moves it on quickly, and is the switch man
Blair played as well as Scharenberg - probably better - because both burnt the ball on occasion but Blair under direct heat and little space. Both played fine
Fasolo was clean and one touch, as per usual. Set-up his team-mates quickly. Not huge accumulation but what you want when he gets it
Aish floats in and out of games
Dunn is not a world beating defender but does the job and gets the ball moving quickly. A needed upgrade on the slow movement out of defence a la Brown
Grundy very fit looking across the ground but still concerns over his centre bounce ruck-work and first possession opportunity
Elliott smooth like baby bum
Adams is my man, a work machine
Maynard Everywhere, Adamsesque
Howe A great pairing with Dunn but with more elan and class

it was a good hit out, no injuries and basically bruise free footy. it will be want the coaches wanted
at this time of the year. with not to many going flat out

Aish floats in and out of games

Was Classy but need to Stop the Fading out of Gamws. Get better staying in Games Longer and he goes to a Whole New Level. Still Young at 21.

Did he even Jump at Center Bounces? Though used the Ball Well and Worked Hard to get into Postion

Adams is my man, a work machine

He just Kept getting the Ball. Only has 1 level and that is Full On

Everyone played really well apart from the Blair brothers

Jarryd had 2 poor possessions, one set shot he kicked into the man on the mark and the other out of bounds on the full.

On a side note, Josh Daicos has been well bought up. Humble and lovely guy.

He has indeed, with a lovely decent father too (who happened to be a superstar).

I have no doubt young Daicos will do everything in his power to succeed, and we will offer him every opportunity. If he doesnt make it, it will be because he's not good enough.

Peter?

He played 6 games in his debut season as a 17 year old then pretty much played every game after that.

Not really important what he did as a junior. Natural takent took him to the top very quickly.

Yep Peter
all good took "a star from a young age" as junior footy
