Are you sure about that? This happened less than 6 weeks ago.

Isn't this just an extension of the trade talks from last year's trade period, which originated after the season was over for Adelaide and Carlton? It's out in the open now, so it's hardly the same? Also instigated because Bryce asked?

Cheeky Brisbane supporters on our board with CC avatar....

Does Pykey have his period? Even last week against Essendon he looked quite animated in the coaches box.
Our position makes the stakes get higher.

On the rumour board, most of the Brisbane posters are towing the "we're not even chasing him, not paying anymore than a second rounder, not bothered if he comes not not" line, next thing, the same posters invade the Adelaide board all with Charlie Cameron avatars... Very amusing. :D

Think it's funny because we are dealing with GC in regards to CC

This is also been mentioned in the thread on the rumour board too. If Lions don't want to part with what we're asking, we could always deal with the Suns.

If we don't get what he's worth, then he stays on the list for another twelve months and we trade him for a second rounder then. If Brisbane or Gold Coast want him sooner, then they'll have to accommodate us with a deal that benefits us. Simple as that.

And apparently some think they can develop Charlie better to his potential :D. Guess the ladder position of both clubs suggest they are much better at that with all the high picks they continuely get

Quote from the Pyke article on Fagan.

So what has his club and his players been doing about Gibbs the past year and a half? Bit of the pot calling the kettle black IMO.

Wasn't that just in the off season though and not just before a finals campaign?

Heres an example as to why clubs should shut the f*** up about approaching contracted players at other clubs during the season.

Club A defeats Club B in a preliminary final. Coach from Club B is bitter about the loss, let's call him Luke.
In the week leading up to the GF Luke decides to start some trouble with the aid of a "journalist", let's call him Michaelangelo.

Michaelangelo sets up an interview with Luke to give Luke a platform to vent, Luke comes out and says "Yes, we're heavily into two players at Club A, we've met them during the year, they're not happy at Club A and I'm almost certain they'll be with us next year."
It's largely untrue, they did approach one of the players, let's call him Rory, but he declined their offer citing he was happy at Club A.

This creates a distraction leading up to the GF for Club A due to the incessant media cycle, both players named have shockers in the GF as journos are camped outside their door 24/7. Club A lose the GF by 5 pts.

Yes this is fanciful but it's why clubs should show respect and keep their dealings out of the spotlight especially when the Michaelangelo's of the world are looking for any bit of negativity to throw at their favourite targets. You could use another scenario of one of the GF coaches doing it against their opposition in GF week as a desperate distraction.

I would suggest that Pyke is tired of the non-stop contract speculation from the media when he's trying to gear up a side for a final push. JJ sounded the same on AA the other day.
Maybe he's just warming up and we're going to start to see more mongrel from him. Salivating if true.

And I'm almost positive that anytime anyone from the club has been asked about Gibbs this year they have responded with a straight bat: Gibbs is contracted to Carlton. We tried getting a deal for him last year. It didn't happen. We've moved on...

Complete fantasy that...

Club B should be called Club WB.

Matera leaving GC, Charlie his replacement.
