The umpire never called play on though.. the umpire has his arm out still calling the free to GWS. Then after the GWS player kicks the point he called play on..

Compared to other sports we let poor goal kicking errors slide far to easily. That was a really poor miss from Keeffe.

I don't think there is intention to make one team win over another.

But there is definite intention to close the scoring gap with umpire intervention.


Unfortunate for GWS that compounds their bad last quarters.

Agree.

I know the contract obligations but it would've been interesting if GWS got through. Argument for it be at Kardinia Park. We had more fans at the Port v GWS semi final last year compared to actual GWS supporters...Different state I get it but yeah, don't mind the Giants but it takes so long to get genuine growth with your supporter base particularly from a non footy state.

1) Ash goaled halfway through the 3rd quarter and they celebrated like they'd won the flag. Was the turning point.

2) Daniels took the advantage when they had a set shot free kick 10m out directly in front and missed in Q4

3) Lachie Keeffe's pitiful set shot in Q4

GSW get shafted pretty much every week by the umps. It’s ridiculous.

Insane game. The place was going absolutely crazy when the siren sounded.

The 4th time Geelong and Brisbane will meet in a preliminary final (since the Lions moved to Brisbane). Geelong have won 2 out of the 3 meetings.

Giants last 3 finals, 1pt, 6pts, 5pts. And they had good leads in all 3 of those games. That is sure going to hurt!. They played with hunger but the Lions matched it in the end and the guts and determination got them over the line.
