It's like this thread is the Bold and the Beautiful - you could not look at it for two weeks, come back and you lot would still be discussing the same thing...

Or in other words:

A bit like you routinely use stats to try and show the other lemmings your team is not as crap as the ladder position suggests you actually are.

So what? The T's and C's of this site are explicit, and work with copyright law, not against it, so there's no conflict.

1. You can't reproduce anyone's copyright on here without their permission. Simple enough. Which is why we get told off about copy&pasting Bone's garbage articles on here.
2. You can produce your own, but if you want to do that, you give the site permission to reproduce it in furtherance of the site. Why? BF admin don't want to be stuffing around with users arguing about copyright, because it's so broad. This here post is copyright.

Hubba-dingle-flapjacks

That word is copyright. it is no less copyright than the Ebert photo. Anyone want to quote this post, and reproduce that word better ask my permission, right?

The admin/owners can't be stuffed, so in the T's & C's it is explicit. Post what you want. But 1. Make sure its yours, and 2. If you do, then we can do what we want with it on here. If you don't like it, don't post. Simples?
Dude, the original comment was towards Sanders saying T&C overrode Copyright laws. Which is incorrect. I couldnt really give a stuff about the rest, and I think you are saying the same as I am in a round about way.

Probably. Was just helping Sanders out. He's kinda new to the internet argument thing. Be nice.

I expect Sanders is saying that the content of the T&C's removes his right to not have his foto republished on this site, which would otherwise be his right if not for his acceptance of the T&C's.

No comprende, heat map please.

Does anyone happen to know when Etihad and MCG tickets for round 2 go on sale?

what games are you wanting to go to?

None of the games will sellout - If Bulldogs were playing a Melbourne team at Docklands maybe it go close with all their new bandwagoners? but they're playing Sydney

You'll be able to walk up and get a ticket at the gate

Yeah I know that you can usually walk up to the gate for Victorian games, but I'm organising a footy trip for a group of mates, and need to buy 10 reserved seat tickets for the Friday night game, the Adelaide vs Hawks game as well as the Carton vs Melbourne game.

BigFooty are still bound by Copyright law. BigFooty can write anything in their T&C, but they're still bound by the laws of the land. Considering it's a US site, their T&C's are probably useless anyway in that respect. I could post a link to a CrowCast episode here, doesnt mean Im absolving them of their Copyright obligations.

You most certainly can contract & consent away legal rights and protections. Very silly to suggest otherwise

The copyright also needs to be properly procured which it appears there is some doubt over given the unanswered queries about accreditation

I'd love to hear more about this "only accredited people can take photos of our players" stuff, how does that work? Anyone?

What is accreditation? Collective consent from a body authorised by agency of the players to act for them

Consent for the image lies with the person photographed. The subject matter. Accreditation facilitates the players consent

Unaccredited images do not carry the consent of the player for use of his image. therefore you can no more own the unauthorised image of the player anymore than you can wander down rundle mall randomly snapping shoppers

If you want to use someone's picture you need consent and you cannot assert rights over something which you do not have legal right to possess or use

You're here everyday lurking so you know the range of topics we cover so don't be cute.

You would also know a joke about Petes photo was quickly followed by a post from one of your fellow lurkers and we took the opportunity to take the piss.

So we are consistent in that regard, we enjoy taking the piss out of Port, Port phlogs and Fotos.

Come on mate, don't be obtuse. Waiving rights under a legal contract is far different to signing up for a forum with dodgy terms and conditions. If the Ts and C's are non compliant, they're not enforceable. You know that as well as I do.

I can tell you that Power Pete was given the authority, by the Port Adelaide Football Club, to take Photo's at any time at training, with the proviso, that he cannot make any comment on any of the training or players.
