Allen was on 6pr last night. Extremely impressive young man.

I'm trying to get used to the idea, but i just can't shake the feeling that WCE will balls up the picking of Allen completely.
He LOOKS and plays like a tall forward. His skills are very good i've noticed, both by hand and foot, but there really isn't anything about the way he plays to suggest he could possibly become a midfielder at AFL level. Not explosive or mobile enough, nothing to suggest he'd be good in traffic. He lumbers around like all talls do.
So where does that leave us? We'd be recruiting him to likely end up being a 3rd banana to Darling and Kennedy. Our forward line would have to have a bit of a shake up to accommodate a 3rd tall forward. If that's the case Waterman and M.Allen might as well pack their bags right now like Lamb because they won't be getting many opportunities.
Bishop thinks we are heavily into Balta for a pick in the 20's.
I appreciate one must judge on in-game exhibitions, but 8.27s in the agility test (eighth highest) really doesn't fit with what you are saying here. Not explosive or mobile enough, nothing to suggest he'd be good in traffic. He lumbers around like all talls do.

I'm hearing Tim Kelly is in the mix for pick 23 if West Coast don't take him at 21, so you might be right.

I don't have access to that (not top 10). You could go ask someone like Bishop if they'd pass on that specific result to you, I'd be interested to know it also. And his 20m sprint time?
Why is anyone expecting Allen to be explosive? He's a smooth mover; size, agility, endurance, overhead strength and skills are the assets I feel he could bring IF he did make a midfield transition.I don't have access to that (not top 10). Do you have this magazine? I would love to know what other players are placed around 3.5/5.The inside footy draft magazine rated his speed as 3.5/5. Combined with his top 10 agility result I think it's safe to conclude that he is above average speed.
Why? I wouldn't take him at 37 personally. For a pick in the 20s I would love balta. Not sure he will be there though.

Any one know anything about Ian Hill?
Haven't seen his name been thrown around but seems to have skill and plenty of pace, but that's just from one YouTube vid.

Allen was top 6 for running verticale jump. So combined with his long arms he would play as a 194cm player IMO.

Will be a gun...but not in this years draft.
Oscar Allen's 20m sprint time at the national combine:
3.07 seconds.
Neither, but the difference between the speediest (Petruccelle) and the 10th speediest (Shipley) doubled is where we find Allen.Fairly slow? I'm not sure what average is.
