I just mean I just can't see us using 21. I think we will bite with 26 though, but it sounds like some teams before that are keen.

Or are bluffing to see if we uae 21 on Kelly and leave a quality slider for them between 22 and 25.

As I posted though Kelly is a good fit for Geelong who need a Motlip replacement.

Sweet! Anyone got the list of key forwards in the juniors who became good inside mids at afl level?

I'm sure the list is long.

Dane swan, Cameron ling and Jobe Watson all playing junior footy as forwards so i we draft oscar allen with the intent of him being an inside mid i suppose their is some hope for us

I don't have access to that (not top 10). You could go ask someone like Bishop if they'd pass on that specific result to you, I'd be interested to know it also.

I’m pretty sure it was 3.07 or something quite bad. It was something I was highlighting because he’s not overly quick.

Will be interesting to see the results of the 2km time trial, with some of the top prospects in it.

''Darcy Fogarty, Callum Coleman-Jones and Charlie Constable will also run in the time trial having nursed injuries in October, while Lachie Fogarty, who did not attend the combine through illness, ran his time trial on Tuesday.

Mature-ager Tim Kelly, who shone at WAFL level this year, will also complete a 2km time trial.

The draft hopefuls in Melbourne will then also undergo extra medical testing with club doctors, alongside other prospects including Luke Davies-Uniacke, Adam Cerra, Jarrod Brander, Charlie Spargo and Hunter Clark.''

Just in the draft rumors thread - Constable not invited to draft and likely a late teens / early twenties pick. Would take him at 21

Constable at 21 isnt silly.

Swans were keen but are interested in Houlihan, Tigers chasing a tall, Lions hopefully forced to use 18 on Ballander.

Wirh either 13 or 21 I feel we will pick up a pleasant surprise.

Yep that is right (posted it on the previous page or one before).
So while I wouldn't call him quick, he's above average (3.1) and faster than Higgins on the day. Don't think quite bad is a fair assessment.

People need to open their eyes. We'd be crazy to pass on allen if he was available at pick 13.
Look, he is a good player.

Really, he offers an upgrade on Darling as a permanent forward, but it's his up the ground work that's impressive. He carries the ball well, super agile and great hands down low or marking. I'm not opposed, I just prefer Clarck or Higgins.

I'm trying to get used to the idea, but i just can't shake the feeling that WCE will balls up the picking of Allen completely.

He LOOKS and plays like a tall forward. His skills are very good i've noticed, both by hand and foot, but there really isn't anything about the way he plays to suggest he could possibly become a midfielder at AFL level. Not explosive or mobile enough, nothing to suggest he'd be good in traffic. He lumbers around like all talls do.

So where does that leave us? We'd be recruiting him to likely end up being a 3rd banana to Darling and Kennedy. Our forward line would have to have a bit of a shake up to accommodate a 3rd tall forward. If that's the case Waterman and M.Allen might as well pack their bags right now like Lamb because they won't be getting many opportunities.
Nah, hes more mobile than you think. Good agility, tested avg for pace but has no issues streaming away from people in space and doesn't mind going for a run.

Has looked slower due to shin issues, but still looked great and according to Twomey (Stephenson esque) early in the All stars match on the wing.

Don't get me wrong, there are others I would prefer, however Higgins isn't exactly quick.

It will be interesting to see who Twomey has us taking next week as his phantom is usually very close to the real thing and he has insights others do not have. Not sure he really knows the Eagles list when he and Ablett did their mock.

Allen at 13 - where there is smoke there is fire so we may well have our sights set on him at 13. IF he can play midfield, it may just work out. He is very clean below his knees and has a decent tank on him already and he does use his size quite well. He got Balta pissed off when he played on him and Balta went back trying to be Mr Tough and Allen was fine responding.

We are tipped to be into O'Brien and L Fogarty - both would be good at 21. Neither are worth reaching at 13 in my mind. While an inside mid is high on our needs, we can use 26 and 32 for that need.

This Starcevich continuous link to us is starting to worry me. If he was from any other state, we would not be thinking about him at all. Smacks of old boys clubs because in 2017, Starcevich has not delivered it. I have him on my board in the 45 to 60 range meaning I would be ok if he slid to our pick at 69 but he is a hit-up medium forward that has not delivered in the midfield and put simply, he is not a need for us.

I am not confident Rioli will make it as our much needed crumber so we need to get a small forward with one of our picks in the 30's. They will be around - preference is Moore but not stuck.
Not a fan of either Brander or Balta. Starcevich is a worry. Seems like a WC special.
