I don't think that is case at all, I do think that on this board if you have an opinion that might be slightly negative towards anything.
The carry on by the positive police is way over the top

And the whining from the negative Nancy's when someone disagrees with their rants is equally as over the top.

You never know what GWS are up to, after resigning Kelly? and Whitfield there salary cap is most probably full.
Which means they can't really get anything in the top end of this years draft due to they don't have a first round draft pick , so if this is the case they are going to have a gap in Replenishing there list as they lose players in the future , which they will.

Have they got some one else they plan on trading - Green , Sheil , Scully ,Ward (I doubt it)- surely Devon Smith will not get them a first round draft pick or a Nathan Wilson who is said could to be going to Fremantle . Have they come to realize their squad can not afford to lose any more top players because if they get injuries they can't patch them up with players like Mzungu , De Boer, Mohr or a Dawson Simpson.

And take a look at the guys like Griffen 31yr , Johnson - retired/ cooked , Patfull - 33yr, Heath Shaw 32yr , Deledio 33yrs -who I would say are well and truly past their best.
Things are not fantastic at the Gaints

Pretty sure alarm bells are ringing and they better win a flag this year or next because everything might fall apart.
Coach will be axed very quickly .
I can not believe a team with so many young very good players have not dominated the game this year.

By the looks they will most probably try and get as many borderline players as they can and hope they come good - they would love to have a Minchington , Lonie , Wright , Holmes on there list instead of Mzungu , De Boer , Mohr or Dawson Simpson.

I think we are starting to look pretty good compared to a lot of teams.

Go Saints
Could we shake Tim Taranto loose. He is a Parkdale boy and might just be cheap before he gets really good.

If Long was a bad pick @26 then Battle was a great pick @ 39.

Swap them in pick order and I doubt we hear complaints.

But please nobody dare mention picks like Battle @ 39 or White @ 40 or Gres @ 18.

I mean we are St.Kilda we do the hopeless not anything else.
i wouldnt have been happy with Battle at 26 ..... Battle went about where i felt he would the fact we passed on Fisher Bolton and Parfitt was my gripe

I agree , only i dont think they would want Minch or Hickey . I would just throw 2018 1st rounder at them or walk away . Take our 7 & 8 to the draft .
Way to early to say off to the draft. Look what Ameet did last year with the hawks, many possibilities yet with next years draft a lot stronger apparently

I have more concerns over a certain No.1 than a no.26 especially when we could have had Petracca
Bigger mistake thsn taking a punt on Long.
Hopefully they both work out.
Paddy is a player you can see it from his first game he just needs to get a good run at it without getting knocked out (that said Petracca may go on to be a future brownlow winner so?!? )

Well you know more than Shifter Sheahan who said draft night that in his words 'the steal of the draft'

But hey what would he know?

thats just silly... Longs race has nothing to do with it, its more that his name came well out of left field in his draft testing the only thing he really did well in was the kicking test the rest he was mid pack.. back in the old day we used to call them the Bevo smokies wher John Beverage would pluck out a Jimmy Gwilt out of nowhere but to use our first pick on a smokie thats crazy

I think he did that with Justin Sweeney. The problem was he was a smoker.

maybe Battle is the steal of the draft but at 26 i would have gone for Fisher or Bolton over Battle we went with neither we went with a guy that wasnt on most people draft radar at all

Well that narrows it down to 2/3 of the competition..

Interstate or Victorian side ?

If there is a smoke screen and we are targeting another player other than Kelly, the trade has to be very big not to shit the saints fans off. You would think it has to trump what we expect so it has to be Rory Sloan, Tom Lynch big you would think or why the subterfuge. I don't think we are going to get Aaron Hall and Balic and the fans all cheer our clear use of Kelly as a decoy. If not them next level is Clayton Oliver, Witherden, Fiorini, Taranto kind of trades than net us a gun kid before they hit their peak.

Roberton was on SEN 2 days back and he said that McPaddy is the best contested mark he had ever seen

He also mentioned that he had been hitting the track and the gym hard during his hiatus and was quite bullish on him playing a big role next season

Whether Fatracca has the character and temperament to take the next step remains a concern in my awesome opinion

Long was shock pick and doesn't look great yet but Sinclair was on my delist targets after last year. Now he's in the first picked list. We just have to hope. Battle was talked about as a top 12 pick so was a bargain but will still have to prove himself just like Long.

His name came out of left field to everyone (including me) who bases their draft knowledge on phantom drafts by flogs like Knightmare.

The Dogs were going to select Long with their pick after ours.

He was always going to get drafted after his brilliant VFL form in the back half of last year. Longy is just one of the kids who matured a little later than others & wasn't quite ready during his U18 draft year.

There's been plenty of those over the years.

Absolutely nothing should be read into him going undrafted when he was 17-18 other than he wasn't ready.

He was last year & we were not the only club to believe that.

Yeah I'm not overly sold on Petracca yet either. He looks okay but his patches of brilliance aren't consistent.

If we sell off one of our 1st rounders to buy into next years draft for a 2nd year running ,
I will seriously throw up !

If we were to trade a first rounder this year for 2 second rounders this year and a first rounder next year ( for a 2nd year running ) i'll even clean up your vomit.
That deal was a seriously good deal for us.
I don't care if it was for the 9th year running.
You want a player NOW!!! We got Jack Steele with this years second rounder. So that's before now.
Koby Steven's was pick 50.

I'm not sure form was brilliant in the back half of 2016. Once in the best 6 in 7 games. 13 goals. Seems a strange pick up when you look at his form.

Yeah i guess it will be fun finishing 9-12th next year.
We need Elite talent , either by trade or draft . We need a player on our list not on a whiteboard.
