Is the drop after 15 that bad this season? Seems like an okay offer on the surface
According to Tiger71 we already have plans for 15, you probably turned off the podcast in the first 3 minutes when he was shitting on you though:p

What didn't Essendon give the Bulldogs picks 24 and 29 for Stringer instead of involving a third club? I bet the Bulldogs told them to GAGF also.

Like the attitude, they are scumbags

Absolutely.

Btw thanks for telling them to piss off when they wanted to low ball us with an absolute bs offer. Actually wouldn’t mind keeping Stringer- even with all the drama.

They are getting pissed off as they ended up blowing 11 on Smith, who is nowhere near as good. When Stringers contract comes up next year, this won’t hurt your chances

Might also lessen our chance of bidding on Naish

Nah, Essendon's list is in pretty good shape. Their forward line and defence is solid (especially if Saad and Stringer are also picked up). Their midfield still lacks bull midfielders with some size though, but would still have improved it with Stringer and Smith rotating through.

Too good a shape, they never ever should have been allowed pick 1 after the drug saga.

Apparently we will come into it late in the piece. When clubs get desperate.

I'd say we'd be the winners giving 21 for a Hawks 2018 2nd round pick. We would be assisting them but ultimately they'd be assisting us more.

The Hawks 1st pick this years is 43 and they want to get back into the first round or near enough.

That's assuming that next years draft is so much better than this years. Personally I have lost count how many times people have said that next years draft is so much stronger than the current year. And you know what most drafts have turned out pretty much the same year in year out. 2001 was great of course and 2004 was terrible but it would have be something really really special to trade a first rounder for a second. Especially for a club like Hawthorn that is very unlikely to finish in the bottom six next year.

Balmey gave the Bummers a fair old whack on SEN this morning, came straight out and said they hold up the whole process and are crap to deal with.

Did he say anything else relating to the trade period for us?

Pick 15 and Lloyd for 19 and 21 would be a great deal, could even through in 53 to get it done.

It guarantees Naish and two players inside the top 20 (excluding Naish). We could also use one of these picks to land Schache if that eventuates, still pick up Naish and still get a top 20 player and have no points deficit.
Except, we could think we'd get Brander at 15, but Adelaide would take him at 16.

I don’t see Adelaide taking another key forward

Yep said while we weren't involved in anything major, we could get involved in some smaller trades (or something similar). He didn't elaborate on players
KB asked him about Schache , and while he didn’t shut the gate on it happening it sounded unlikely

Yes apparently Essendon just offered us two picks in the mid 20s for 15 so they can use it for Stringer.
We told them to GTFO

Nothing has changed.

Shite club to deal with.

Brander can play either end and maybe even midfield. They just lost Lever and found out Jenkins is a fraud.

Brander would be best available at 15 as well.

I think the key is he didn’t shut the gate on it.

Not at all trade related but this just popped up again on my fb feed from the overconfident tiger supporter page, still makes me laugh...

Best one liner that i've read during this trade period.

In Lever, the Demons get a 21-year-old key defender who is an elite intercept mark and natural leader

Mate, this overrating of Lever makes me sick. On SEN this morning when Gary was asked if Lever can emulate Alex Rance, Gary’s response was something along the lines of “with all due respect to Alex Rance, Jake is the superior player than what Alex was at 21 years old”.

Can you believe it? He didn’t need to say anymore to know what he was insinuating. To further highlight how clueless he is, Rance was bang average at 21, so any comparison to Rance pre 2013 is absolutely meaningless.

Also, Rance and Lever are different players. Rance is actually accountable for a KPF, Lever just floats across intercept marking/spoiling as the third man up in contests.

He also won’t have the support of Talia and Hartigan at Melbourne. Instead he will have Oscar McDonald and Sam Frost. He will be exposed next season like he was on GF day by Townsend.
