The Bombers are building a nice side no doubt. The big worry for them still is the defense. Havent been too many premiership sides with sub-par defense over the last however many years.
But they have Hurley.

Mate, this overrating of Lever makes me sick. On SEN this morning when Gary was asked if Lever can emulate Alex Rance, Gary’s response was something along the lines of “with all due respect to Alex Rance, Jake is the superior player than what Alex was at 21 years old”.

Can you believe it? He didn’t need to say anymore to know what he was insinuating. To further highlight how clueless he is, Rance was bang average at 21, so any comparison to Rance pre 2013 is absolutely meaningless.

Also, Rance and Lever are different players. Rance is actually accountable for a KPF, Lever just floats across intercept marking/spoiling as the third man up in contests.

He also won’t have the support of Talia and Hartigan at Melbourne. Instead he will have Oscar McDonald and Sam Frost. He will be exposed next season like he was on GF day by Townsend.
Poor Gary is still recovering from the affects of us winning the flag.

The reason why Richmond would be intent on taking 15 to the draft but happy to use 17 in a trade deal (as Tiger71 suggests) could only be because we are wary of the team with pick 16 who we believe could take our targeted player. The team with pick 16 is none other than the crows, and to be wary of them means that our targeted player is probably from SA. Considering we are on record saying we are targeting a tall in this year's draft, I hereby deduce that we will draft

Callum Coleman-Jones (SA)

Best position: Ruck/key forward
Height, weight: 199cm, 98kg
Recruited from: Sturt
Projected draft range: Second round
Similar to: Toby Nankervis
September Ranking: 13
Rationale: Big body who can take a mark, find a lot of the ball around the ground and has the performances on the board both through the ruck and up forward. Appears an ideal relieving ruckman. Drops as other rise.
Strengths:
Contested marking
Strong hands overhead
Intercept marking
Reading of the ball in flight
Size
Strength
Physicality
Clean at ground level
Disposal numbers per game through the ruck
Scoreboard impact
Taps to advantage
Mobility
Production
Prolific both as a key forward and ruckman
Very advanced game for age
Weaknesses:
Poor leaper
Lacks explosiveness
Awkward kicking style
Credit to Knightmare.

Good job, but could just be that whole thing where we have to get permission from the board to trade our first pick, and everyone is too scared to ask Peggy.

I think most would happily do 15 plus Lloyd for 19 and 21. So happily in fact I highly doubt Geelong would even consider it
What if we throw in a home final?(not ours).

The cows would bid on Naish at 16 I think

Yep said while we weren't involved in anything major, we could get involved in some smaller trades (or something similar). He didn't elaborate on players
KB asked him about Schache , and while he didn’t shut the gate on it happening it sounded unlikely
Tiger71 strikes again :$

Hopefully Credit to Knightmare is a weakness we can fix....

Makes sense. Would fit the profile we want.

I just want it all to happen, so I can get back to focusing on the premiership

I think the key is he didn’t shut the gate on it.

And that is what i tried to comunicate. We have not closed the door on him as others have suggested. We just want him at our price, if we dont get that price we enter the draft.

IMO he is still very much in the picture

Is our price pick 17? Or pick 17 + Miles to sweeten it?
