I reckon we have cap space but we are being strategic.

If the right trade does occur (schache looks unlikely), I bet we aiming to bank that space and try front load dustys contract as much as possible.

If lynch is free next year we might release that and have a tilt.

Wouldn’t be touching this trade with a 10 foot barge pole. We don’t need to take the risk. Should be going to the draft and using our picks
Whilst I agree to a certain point.... our window is of course right now. We need to add ready made talent or players (IF Schache somehow meets this mould).

We don't have 3-4 years to wait for a risky KPP we potentially select in the upcoming draft to develop, given they are genuine quality, which as stated, are a huge risk as well.......

If I was RFC, I'd be putting #17 on the table to Brisbane for Schache, saying 'think about it', and slipping out of the room..... then go and work on other business.

how can you know much more about a player that has never played afl than one who has?

Well I’d probably take notice of the big red flag of another AFL club trying to get rid of their player

I’d be making the play for Lynch next year over Schache

ive noticed that. and he appears meek, like vickery, mcbean, elton et al that have come before him and failed. got that from watching him play afl on tv. no idea who we'd get at 15/17 or what they are like, don't watch kid footy. I'd assume the club know everything about him though, he's pretty fresh out of the draft, and they do their due diligence on these kids. his first senior coach is on our staff too so they probably have much more info on him than the other kids. plus the exposed afl form to go off. i reckon he's a spud but I've been known to be wrong before. probably less risky than taking a tall at our picks this year if that's what they are after.

This!!

I'd make a play for Lynch with our everything. If he decides to go next year as a FA (I understand) they get sweet FA really. One compo pick. This way GC get 2 firsts. Would be being asked on the quiet, if being asked. For Lynch it would be so tempting. Join a great club, with a huge fan base and Premiers to boot. Plus he has a slot there for him if he turns up. If he wants a premiership then we can satisfy GC and him in one hit.

Edit: Love the pic. Well done Broad.

So, he was pressured into signing?
AFL will have a field day.
He's not what we need ... the kid is timid.
When did I say he was pressured? Its very possible he wanted to move back to Victoria but also wanted to help out Brisbane, so he signed with them so they would have more trade leverage. A way to help Brisbane instead of screwing them if he then decided to leave.

We’ve interviewed him and said no. Is that not enough? Based on your criteria we should take on a player who has issues because we know about them? Despite him being in the system for two years he is a completely unknown quantity. Plus another AFL club wants him gone. I’d take a draft pick over that any day of the week
Who knows why we said no. That was said while we were still playing finals and when it was said he was staying. Things have changed since then.
Could be something that isnt an issue at all.
Brisbane want him gone because he wants to go.

I'd be going all in for Lynch now, Avoid a bidding war with other clubs which will likely equal martin, maybe more
Yeah I would also be going all out for Lynch now, as in this year. Richmond just won a Premiership and still have the likes of Cotchin, Martin and Rance at a high point of their careers.
