We could make some major plays in the next couple of days with the way things are going.....

1. Offer GWS pick 17 for Kennedy + 27
2. Offer Brisbane pick 15 + 55 for Schache + their 2018 2nd
3. Offer GC Miles for 37/39
4. Delist Batchelor and Drummond
5. Rookie list Drummond
6. Use 27 to match Naish bid, 37/39 for back-up points if needed, draft a KPD and a KPF

In: Kennedy, Schache, Naish, KPD, KPF
Out: Maric, Yarran, Hunt, Morris, Batchelor, Elton

Delicious
What picks do you use for a kpd and kpf?

If Brissy want to throw a school yard hissy fit and reach to bid for Naish purely out of spite, they can have him, and everyone else will laugh at them.

Another player who will want to come home in 2 years lol

Don't know why the media are reporting that it would be "pay back" for us nominating players. Look at the list of players we nominated for. All are bloody good players. Not as if we nominated Kid Hipwood just to spite them. He would be bloody awesome in our team right now.

Castagna has been elevated to the senior list already, not going anywhere.

I did find it odd that whilst he was upgraded there was no mention in the media whatsoever of a contract extension. Unless they are simply waiting till this period is over before they know what they can give him in both length and size of contract.

Another knock on Griff is his inside 50 set shot conversion.. particularly at clutch moments. Has rare potential to kick goals from outside the arc but had started looking to give it off.. love him to come good but it would be against the grain at this stage..
I'd like to see him change up a few aspects of his game. Lead more take more chest marks. And use his long kick to better advantage. This would mean he is the high half forward and Townsend stays deep.

Miles to Hawthorn/Brisbane/lolnorf for 43/44/46
17 + Miles pick to GWS for Kennedy + 27 (Naish)
Its a better deal than SOS is pushing.

Miles to GWS would be funny as ****.

Would so love ya to have a crack at Kennedy and snatch him from the Blues grasp.

The Port offer was reported to be $500k which is why the media believed Geelong would get 35. Obviously it is more given they got band 2 compensation instead of band 3 we got for Vickery.

Astbury didn't come good until his 8th season and even then most wanted him gone this time last year. Like Astbury Griffiths issue has been injuries that have held him back. At 26 he has time.

Griffiths will never come good. Man, I can't believe the hype around this guy .... since day one supporters have built him up to be something which he is well short on delivering and people still think it's all going to click. Most clubs would have moved on from him by now.
Griffiths hasn't even delivered half as much as Vickery., but that won't stop people obsessing.

Agree just another Ty, hughes, patto etc that take years to move on. Been clear for ages he was never going to make it.

Like I've said 12 months ago everyone thought Astbury was cooked and we should cut our losses. Now he is a premiership winner. Not saying the same will happen with Griffiths but I fully expect the club will give him another crack next year in a last ditch effort to fulfil his talent.

The issues with Ben Griffiths are:
  • the constant injuries
  • he is hesitant to kick the ball
  • his lack of urgency on the ground
  • he does not impact the score board

Because the afl is corrupt.

The idea of "payback" when bidding on players who already are discounted for the opposition is ludicrous.

It's a semi free market, far closer to Chinese commerce than American.

Naish goes to the highest bidder (hypothetically) whether that is here or someone else.

clearly didnt listen to the trade podcast, otherwise he would have heard everything!

looks like even old mate Tony has listened to our podcast.

Fair enough.

I just see Griffiths as delist material, and Lloyd as good, but limited and depth at best.
Only delist Griffiths if we are trading for another ready to go tall.

So either we are getting Schache.... or (which I would not be against and also knowing that the club has apparently already met with) making a late play for Stringer...... Because I think we are in a position to take a risk, albeit a calculated one (he is a better risk than what the Bulldogs too regarding Cloke.... bust!)..... I think we can offer #17....... or #15 and try to get a pick upgrade coming back.........

I am warming to a play on Stringer.....
