Kosi is completely average. End of story.
It's just unbelievable. I almost had Kozzie in the delist category. He did just enough to earn a 1 year deal. In a team lacking tall players, he had a great opportunity this year.

He showed he wasn't up to it consistently.

No one is thinking Chol is amazing, but he's an upgrade on Kozzie.

I'd suggest both aren't the answer as a side kick to Lewis, however, Chol is more capable in the ruck.

From what I have seen, Chol is a more reliable mark and set shot. Kosi may offer a bit more defensively and may have more upside. Not a lot between them IMO.

As a Richmond supporter who watched a fair bit of Chol. At punt road and up the Gold coast.
Chol mostly got games as ruck injury back up. He really seemed to have no appetite for the physical aspects of rucking.
He played Lynch injury cover in 2020 .. not well enough to hold his spot.
He flourished at the Goldie, the year king was injured and played forward. But didn't hold his spot vs casboult.
Don't know much about Kosi at all. Just seems a good role for him at punt road.
As KPF no 2.
Is he contracted?

This board knows I don't rate Kosi, but it seems like Richmond do if they've come knocking for him. We should definitely be holding out for as much as we can get for him, purely on the basis that he's a 23 year old KPP with AFL exposure.
that they offered 3 years to.

Yeah but this is the same argument Essendon will use to want us to overpay for Massimo also if we offered better terms. It doesn’t mean we should overpay. Doesn’t help that they’ll know exactly how stupid the Shinbeggers were to overpay for CCJ so won’t make the same mistake.

Does the market rate small half forwards as it currently rates key talls? I don't think D'Ambrosio is a very good parallel. Richmond are desperate for key stock in a post Lynch world.

This season has seen EOFR compensation for a bloke currently suffering from an ACL who is only just capable of playing a key defender role, first round picks bandied about for Esava Ratugolea and likely 3rd pick in compensation for a bloke who barely kicked a footy at senior level for the first half of his career. Blokes like Naughton signing for close to 10, being offered 11. Kosi isn't a great player and I'd have been happy to delist him, but if someone comes and offers 3 years I don't see why we shouldn't metaphorically be fattening him up for market.

All logical points. On this basis I’m sure our team are starting at a second rounder - I just don’t think Richmond will be silly enough to pay it. I think there’ll be a swap of assets to the equivalent of a 3rd round pick at the end of the day.

I love the way that players potentially coming to Hawthorn suddenly have the fond first name status.
He used to be D’Ambrosio and just a sh*head from the Scum.

And he’s not even here yet.
😂

In fairness I’m just minimising the chances of spelling his name incorrectly.

KPP do look to be valued highly atm as KJ pointed out, but I don't see how the hawks will be able to ship Kosi off for a pick in the 20s on that basis and secure Chol for a pick 40+.
If we get a good pick for Kosi, surely the Suns ask for a decent pick in return on the same basis?
I'm not convinced we can leverage the "salary dump" / Dimma vs Chol / not on best 22 etc. arguments to pay less for Chol and will be impressed by MMs work if there's a step change between the draft capital we pay for Chol & receive for Kosi.

I reckon Sun will be keen to get rid of him given dimma coming on, will be last minute trade though!

Not taking a crack at you personally here, but I can see a flaw in this argument, it's relying on logic.

There's so little logic at Draft time this year it's kind of frightening.

But that aside, asking for overs and then later going down to what the market eventually says he's worth if there are no takers is a tried and true business strategy.

Anyone complaining about what we're asking for Kosi, is effectively saying they want us to have less. For no reason. Often these same people complain about us getting shafted for value in our previous year's deals.

Odd imo.

Sorry to intrude but .......I think it may be have been the other way around.
A third round pick is the likely result.
For the record...the fence is erected around the ground to keep Chol on the field !!!
Runs away from the ball @ every opportunity....scores most of his goals out the back.
There is a reason why Dimma doesn't want him.

If you think Chol is frustrating just wait until you watch Kosi kick from 20 out

You will have fun with Kosi then

Thought process might be to play him back...free up Gibcus or Balta to play forward.
Wasn't he AA fullback in his draft year?

He was nearly delisted as a defender. It was only a hail mary up forward that saved his career.

He is now on the verge of being delisted as a forward. We have given him a 12 month lifeline as depth.

People are to simplistic in their analysis when a player asks to leave, so I am not going to bother arguing with "group think". Going against "group think" has worked very well in my life, it worked for Clarko with Dew, Gisbon, and Hale, but it's not suited to blog sites in most case.
Seems working well in your life has a different definition for you than everyone else, because it's not "group think" you're going against, it's just "think" and if you think that's working out for you, being oblivious doesn't mean things are rosy.
