Welcome 2018 draft pick 52: Welcome to Hawthorn Jacob Koschitzke

CCJ wasn't best 22 for 4 years no, he became it at the end though such was our plan with KPFs and transitioning from Jack there was a spot for him as the 3rd tall/second ruck.

My argument doesn't really matter, I'm on a forum, I'm saying the RFC won't trade 26 straight swap for Kosi, so there'll be some other trade agreement the clubs get to.
To the actual trade no ofc nothing on this forum has a meaningful impact but if you want to have an honest discussion don't talk shit. Kosi played the last month over Ryan and was offered a contract yet you declared he wasn't best 22 but were more than happily to declare CCJ best 22 based on the same time frame.

Ryan was doing ok but pulled out of I think the Dogs game with illness and couldn't get back in I think? It's not like he lost his spot on form or anything like that. I really wanted Kosi to make it with us too, but the reality is he's Tim O'Brien - I doubt very much he will be on a list anywhere in three years time.

Short sighted

Richmond’s second rounder is worthless in this draft. 26 - whichll be in the 30s after father son and academies - is right.

Literally no need to gift him to someone for a worthless pick.

It’s not worthless for us it gives us points for McCabe. And it won’t be a second rounder.

It may help us with McCabe, but everyone is saying this is a shallow draft. An he’ll everyone is jumping a shadows saying Jiath and Dear are potential too 30’s now, but shows how much of an unknown this draft is!

AFL really need to fix the under 18 programming, this area of the game has gone backwards since Covid and it is the AFL’S future!

Kosi has 1 weapon and its average at best

Is athletic enough to be hit up on a lead and clunk the occasional contested mark but cannot score outside of set shots

Richmond ball use is horrendous, he aint getting much service from Taranto, Hopper and Prestia
It's kind of frustrating that we had Timmy O who couldn't hold his marks but was a really good set shot for goal to only then replace him with Kozzie who as you say is athletic enough to take a grab but couldn't hit the big side of the barn with his set shots. If only we could've combined the two.

If we got it we'd have to move it on, along with our 2nd rounder from the Doggies. Someone would want those picks (GCS?).

We are not getting a pick in the 20's for an out of contract Kozi. If Hawthorn were recruiting him and the media were reporting that cost this entire board would be going absolutely crazy.

I wish him well but he has more holes in his game than colander. Hope for his sake he manages to improve but has a lot of limitations.

If CCJ gets 19

Kosi worth top 10

* Obviously factious, but Richmond set the market

How can you say CCJ 'became' best 22 and Kozi hasn't been best 22 at Hawthorn? Kozi played 12 senior games this year, that is more than CCJ played in any year. Kozi was best 22 in the last 4 games of the year, and 8 other games of the year. If what people are saying about the shallow draft is true, I'd rather we walked him to PSD than accept 45 if that was the only return we were getting and no other exchanges were involved.

Me too. If Richmond have given kosi the belief to nominate and then are not willing to do a deal then that is on them.

This is really poor list management imo.

Why?

Kosi is never injured, he's hitting his prime, he hits the pack hard, tackles well and can take a grab, so lets look at some facts at why he's been up and down.

Facts:
1. When developing those curial first 2 years we had the worse game plan in the league.
2. We had the following absolute first class midfields kicking to him as young leading forward - T.Mitchel, O'Mearea, Worpel, Sheils, - what a gift as a forward that is. Not to mention Frostball, and headless chook CJ. You get the picture if you just have a think about it.
3. Our cupboard is bear for fit strong coming of age forwards who can lead and mark, not to mention Lewis plays better when he's in the side.

In other words he's done far better then my fellow Hawthorn supporters give him credit for if they'd stop and think.

More reasons why this is bad list management:
1 We just gave Fin 2yrs for what? because of his father (yes get upset if you must but look at the facts he's another mid that can't kick and is just a very simple role player).
2.We just gave 2yrs to Serong (don't get me wrong I like this move, but if we've got 2yrs for Serong then we should have had at least 2yrs for Kosi with a pay raise)
3.If we are to get anywhere we need a midfield that not only wins the ball but can kick it to advantage, not the sky ball sideways crap of the past 4yrs. If this happens Kosi's output as a leading forward would improve out of sight esp at his age and he's never injured. You can only lead so many times at the ball carrier and be totally missed before you have a gut full of it. Blame the midfield not the poor bloke on the end of the shit game plan and hack kicks trying to develop from 18yrs of age till now

Taking all this into account the VALUE on this forum people are placing on Kosi as a trade, compared to what they'll offer for their new favs, is a out and out joke.

Sam Mitchel should have sat down with Kosi and said; Mate we're trying to get class into the middle to hit you on the chest so hang in there with us as your first 4yrs were with the worse midfield we've ever had and a utterly shit game plan, but we're trying to fix it, not whatever he said.

Mitchel of all people should have known the difference between having Hodge, Burgs, Lewis, Hill and himself kicking to Buddy, Roughy and Gunston as young KPF's compared to having O'Merea, T.Mitchel Sheils and Worpel kicking to Kosi as a lone hand most the time.

This is a classic Hawthorn mistake of throwing out a key piece of the puzzle instead of building around it at exactly the wrong the time.

Rookie coach mistake this one and someone needs to tell Sam it's a mistake that he's making.

I'd be surprised if Richmond offers 26 or agreed to it unless something comes back due to Kosi's recent form and contract status.

They will offer 47 probably.

No deal.

If no deal can be reached then another club offering better or pre-season draft if he wants out no matter what.

Mitchel could wake up and resign him if we don't get decent compo but coaches hate back peddling.

Did he show up at the Peter Crimmins?
Don't know.

What I find ridiculous on here is the delusions people have of how a out of contract player at another club is worth half our salary cap and will immediately shoot us to the moon, if we land them, compared to the value of a departing Hawthorn player and what they may bring to the club they're going to, the biases are so out of whack that they are close to delusions.

It's the same on what people will give up in the draft for there fav. Objectivity goes out the window.

If Richmond really want Kosi because they see a spot for him, then pay up what he's truly worth, not what supporters think just because they don't like him.

On the flip side people will give half the club away for Chol who has been no better then Kosi and is 3yrs older and already failed at 1 club and is disliked enough by the new coach to be moved on immediately.
