They’re all at Championship standard was my point. Irvine would be ahead of Jedinak, yes.

So you're agreeing with me lol, I'm confused about what we're discussing then.

So what's the plan against France, park the bus (and probably lose) or go for the win (and probably lose by more)? I wonder what tactics this manager will go for, will he play each match tactically to try and qualify, eg. limit the loss to France, and then try and pull 1 W 1 D from Peru and Denmark, or will he play to try and win all 3 games, and potentially go down swinging in the group stage.

Damage control

From BvM's comments we'll be looking to snag a goal on the counter. I suspect he'll also look to use the width of Leckie/Kruse/Behich/Risdon given the way we set up in friendlies.

This group reminds me of France in 2002.

France
Denmark
Uruguay
Senegal

Peru being Uruguay this time around, and us being Senegal. Are we going to shock them first up like Senegal did? Nope. Uruguay beat us in 2002 to claim that spot the campaigners.

I feel we will be nervous in the first 15 minutes and concede to France. The last two friendlies we have been complacent but luckily the teams have been crap offensively.

Never know. Were there now. Have a crack.

This.

The last thing they'll expect is for us to go out there and try to play attacking football. Having said that, 1 crunching tackle in the first 5 minutes on Mbappe or Pogba and we'll spend the entire game inside their heads.

I don't subscribe to that theory. There's plenty that would try and hack those players at a league level so I'm not sure why it would mentally weaken them at a national level.

It does bother them at club level.
