Agree with some that we can get a result against Denmark and Peru based on that game.

The refereee was a campaigner so no surprise he was keen to give a VAR decision. You could argue it was there and argue it wasn't, but like a goal review in AFL surely not enough conclusive evidence to overturn?

Would have taken 2-1 at the start of the night but I'm flat now. We didn't create much but were organized well enough to earn a point.

Sainsbury utterly magnificent, he is a gun. Mooy great in MF. And very impressed with BVM - he has this team playing well enough to be a chance every game, and that's all you can ask. Will need a bit more attacking flair against Denmark though.

All the referees bar one were from Uruguay, and each one, without fail, would have been crying like little biatches when Australia qualified and they didn’t. They’ve been waiting this long to get us back.

Funny with the penalty France got.
In real time I thought it wasn't a penalty.
First time viewing of the VAR - when the referee was making his decision - I thought it was a penalty.
Viewing the footage after the game, I thought it wasn't.

Who'd want to be a ref? He only had one look at it.
I can understand why he made his decision.
All the technology in the world and it is still subject to human decision making.

People calling for Cahill to be in are living in the past. Also don't underestimate the mountain of work Nabbout put in to disrupt Pogba and Kante, it's not a coincidence that they got off the chain after he came off.

Just isn't a big attacking threat, so MacLaren in for Nabbout and Arzani for Kruse next game.

Pen was not there. You can make contact and it not be a foul.

It wasn't a clear and obvious error by the ref so shouldn't be given.

Risdon got a toe to the ball then clipped Griezmann bringing him down. That's a penalty. But agree, there was enough doubt that the ref's decision shouldn't have been overturned.

The French looked like they had been drinking their own bathwater. And shit tactics by Deschamps. Can't write them off yet though.

So this. Kruse is a hack. And the less said about Nabbout the better. There is a reason why we struggle with goals from open play, no class up front.

And please add Irvine to your list. He’s better off in the crowd with the supporters.

Not sure if he has the energy to start and run out 90, but boy did Arzani do a few nice things in that last 5 minutes. I would love to see him start over Kruse. Nabbout provided nothing, would like to see Juric start ahead of him.

Yes, thought that was quite obvious the first time it was viewed - surely everyone (apart from the ref) saw that Risdon won the ball clean. Any contact thereafter is incidental (in actual fact it is then technically a foul by the French player kicking the player that won the ball). French attacker then dived. Exactly what were they looking at on the VAR?

I may not sure I agree with corruption as such in this case, although it is notable that these sorts of decisions do seem to favour the hotshot teams, don't they? ... then again, rethinking it, yes they've cheated!
