Bring on the Revolution. It’s the only way we can have any hope of moving forward.
Today we are like Fitzroy in the 90’s.
Get real and Get Angry.
Rebel against the system.
We need a high powered group to challenge the Board at the end of the season.
Do you want to go through another year of this?

Also let’s get a coach who actually played AFL football and who, like the Scott brothers, Clarko and Hardwick, have a lot of mongrel in them. Brendan Bolton may have been an acceptable choice 3 years ago but he is no longer appropriate, in every sense including the important PR sense. He looks and sounds like a short secondary school teacher.
Enough.

100% correct.

Let's open the cheque book (or the brown paper bag) and raid the SANFL and WAFL for the best young players.

"Rebel against the system" - gee that worked well for us last time we tried it.

Welcome to the 21st Century.

Doesn't quite work like that anymore.

Maybe blueandblublu is Old Pigs Arse himself?

There was always the possibility of a let down against Brisbane after
the huge build up and emotion associated with the game against Port.
They gave it everything in an attempt to win the game for Simmo and still came up short.

Losing Simmo before the game was huge for a team that was already short of onfield leadership.

Phillips out of the game early compounded our problems. From that point on we were hardly a chance to win the game.

I felt flattened by that result on Saturday but after a couple of days of reflection it's not really hard to see why it happened.

Having just read the last couple of pages of this thread I can see a minority of posters who are responding just as I knew some would when it got a little bit tough this year.

I questioned at the time of Bolton's appointment if all of our supporters would have the stomach for the full rebuild which was promised by him, SOS & the board. Right on cue those who don't have the stomach for it want another coach's scalp, a board challenge & the right to throw their toys out of their cot. 4 coach sackings in 13 years was obviously not enough to appease these supporters.

I asked at the time of Malthouse's sacking how many more sackings will it take for the club to realise you need to give your coach the cattle to work with before you can properly assess their work. Yet despite our playing list being horribly unbalanced, with a lack of quality players in the 24-28 age group, some would have you believe that sacking the coach will suddenly resolve this issue. A new coach will apparently make superstars out of O'Shea, Mullett, Shaw, Graham, Lamb, Kerridge & Wright.

My brain hurts.

We have to back him in. There's nothing else to do. In fact we should all go further than this and support him and get behind this grand old club and stop the bullshit.

And if there weren't 14 guys on the injury list they wouldn't be.......
jones, weitering and marchbank were healthy vs brisbane. So was mckay. There was no reason for rowe to be in that side period.

Brisbane have 1 tall forward. It's good that Bolton played 5 tall defenders because at least it kept their tall forwards in check

Ah Rowe plays his guts out. Don't pick on him. Who else would make any difference?

There's nothing wrong with talls as long as they're not liabilities at ground level. When the ball hits the deck if casoublt and rowe are in the team then we're playing with 16 men.

it's not so much following the leader as simply observing what works. the west coasts talls can apply pressure and apart from the geelong and hawthorn dynasties that had superstars on every line, all the recent successful sides were built around pressure.
Rowe needs to get dropped for good. Seriously a liability. But he won't.

Let the following sentence sink in a bit:

We are continually told to stick fat because we are in a rebuild and 3 years into that rebuild and 3 years after using a first round pick on Harry, a player like O’Shea that is absolutely not in our future has played more games this season than McKay has lol

As for the rest, I’m sorry but throughout the last 2 seasons there have been plenty of times where our recent draftees have been fit and playing. It’s Bolton that has decided that he’d rather see our mature aged players deliver crap on the field rather than let our recent draftees deliver that crap instead with the added benefit of getting games and experience under their belts
Exactly. What a shambles this club has become.

How tall are Lamb, Thomas & Silvagni? If you consider them to be tall defenders then you are taking the urine.

What a shambles this club has become.

Whilst it is far from perfect the club is very much less of a shambles that it has been in close to 20 years. There is a clear direction and everyone seems to be on the same page, pulling in the same direction. That is a big improvement on where we were a few years ago.

Because we have nothing left. But they put their arse on the line and we need to respect that.

We do indeed. But it is undoubtedly one of the most cursed parts of the injury curse, that it is so proportional to talent.

For though our 2018 list walks through the valley of the shadow of death, it fears no evil, for O'Shea, Mullett and Graham are with them... and those guys are ****ing indestructible!

I was being sarcastic. Both these players are getting games why? We've only won a solitary game for the year and are liabilities.
Because Rowe and Oshae bust their arses no matter what, ieven if they look stupid or crap or hopeless.
Show me one game Harry played in the 1s or even 2s for that matter where he busted his arse, gave his all and ended the game absolutely spent even if he looked bad doing it.
And there you go.
You don't build a strong club culture worrying about how you look on tv.
You just end up a tosser like Tomic and Kyrgios.

So who would you have played instead?

What would have been your starting 22 on Saturday?

What the vast majority of you don’t seem to get is that our younger and middle ranking players are being placed under a continuing form of stress and pressure that their counterparts at the successful and moderately successful teams (which is about 14 other teams) are not under.
It is dispiriting and very harmful to their development.
Can anyone seriously suggest that Weitering would not be a much better player at, say, Port, Richmond, Collingwood or Essendon? He is being defeated by having to play in a very inferior team and in that part of the team that is most under seige. It’s obvious that he has had enough and that he is not coping.
When a footballer plays in a good team he invariably performs better than he would when in a bad team. Some of those well performing middle order Richmond and Collingwood players would be very ordinary playing for us or St Kilda.
We are in BIG trouble. And so are some, not all, of our gifted players.
Make no mistake about that fact.

Thanks for ‘schooling’ us.

Polson busts his arse that's why he gets a game, McKay are you reading this?
