In that case wouldn't the club be better just delisting and rerooking Hunter. I doubt anyone would offer him a rookie spot at this point of time.
I think they were hoping to trade him. If that happens, then he would automatically go onto the senior list at his new club.

The problem with promoting him is that we don't have enough list vacancies. The only way that happens is if we trade draft picks, and end up with less than what we started with (e.g. 8+21 -> 5). That would leave us with 3 "live" picks, and we could upgrade him to fill the last vacancy. That would also require delisting Sig and/or Cheney.

Well I've had the opposite confirmed, so there ya go.

I have had a third point-of-view which is diametrically opposite to both of you, also confirmed

I've heard people say it mate and I was skeptical, but had it confirmed today. Unfortunately it is the case. I dont know what the issue is, but crows aren't crazy about him. Take it or leave it

Jeez Bicks on AA banging on for weeks now about GC taking the SA again and again.. almost seems like he’s intentionally going on about it..

You know thinking about it. What cripps said is drawing iee from the afl and apparently GC are ropable..yet it is totally fine for the vic clubs to actually come and pick the carcass this trade period and give back cery little and that just goes through to the keeper. Virtue signalling me thinks as seeming is actually worse than the dooing

Are we done? Finishing up Stengle makes me think we're done
Really? It makes me think there's at least one more deal in the offing.

Why would we trade for pick #68, instead of giving them #72, if they don't have other plans for #72? It makes me think that we need #72 as the steak knives in another, yet to be announced, trade.

TBH we dont have enough information to see the bigger picture till the 2019 season.

Remember it was this time last year that Port got an A+ for their "Holy Trinity" in "Whats, Slops and Rocks". Once the season started to play out we got to see first hand how bad that decision was, which caused massive collateral damage with them losing players this month now.

Polec is better than all those 3 players.

Wingard when in form is also better than all those 3 players.

Its been a massive Power choke.
There's looking back in hindsight, and there's seeing the big picture of what Reid & co are trying to do in the present. We'll have to wait for 2023 for the hindsight (given that most of it will involve kids who won't play in 2019). We'll have the short-term "big picture" in the next day or two.

At this point I wouldn't be suprised to see us keep the picks we have. Crows don't rate Rankine as high as us and the only way we trade up is if we are certain to pickup Luko, which is unlikely. Not sure what the deal is with adelaide and Rankine...attitude?? But I'm led to believe we have Smith rated higher.

I'm kind of glad to hear that - I spoke to a recruiter (based in Adelaide) who works for a VIC club and he had seen a lot of Rankine & didn't rate him. He said that Rankine tended to have extended quiet periods in TAC cup games that were brought about by putting a close checking defender on him. At AFL level he would have to deal with hard tags. He believed people get over excited by his X-factor.

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that there is no saving that team. Describing them as a hot mess would be a compliment!

Would not put it past the AFL that this is part of the plan, get a presence for a period of time, then "merge" it with an established Melbourne club ala Brisbane Lions.

Pretty sure McDonalds are doing a 2for1 Big Mac deal for forth round picks and above.

Something stinks with this Suns' stuff. Are they trying to be extra bad so that they get (even) more assistance?

Something is going on we don't know about.

Some of the moves over the last couple of days make no sense.

Trade Radio won't cover it, because they can barely comprehend normal trades.

I suggest something big is happening.

Probably didn't get a touch considering he didn't play in the TAC cup.

I think your recruiter mate might be just a bloke who says stuff about stuff sometimes!

 Maybe just that the clubs in that #4 / #5 simply don't want to do a trade with us .....nothing to do with how we rate Rankine

Either that or Dew/their off-field staff have decided that the best course is to just burn it down and start all over.

It may put 2 and 3 in play, though I highly doubt it at this point.

Don't tell me ...from a source you have?

Which TAC Cup games were those exactly? He didn't play TAC this year, or any other year

Not calling you a liar, but you said you were told that there would be a “flurry of activity” yesterday.

Yesterday was boring as batshit.
Not you too! Jeepers Blue!
